Hi, Spitfire. This is a very effective use of the senryu form. Your social commentary is timely and, I think, effective in revealing the deep intrusions being made into personal freedom and choice. Well done! Bev

Waits to be seen. There are so many hospitals willing to do the procedures why put the Catholic hospitals to the test when it goes against their moral fiber. The institutions like Loyola Medical Center do so much to preserve life - why demand they end life? You have a thought-provoking poem here, as usual. Gets my ire up. ;) Thank you - you have inspired me. Now who knows what will happen when pen strikes paper!

Good question and will they? I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think it's going to be a long aggravating road to selecting candidates for me this year. Like everyone, I'm disgusted, too.

I hate to even think this, but it wouldn't shock me at all to see Obama take over for another four years. By then, we'll be a third world country!

Shari, I enjoyed the message in this Senryu. I am and was raised and baptised a Catholic. I think protecting life and our God given rights are important for the future of humanity. Well done on this and thanks for sharing. Take care Adam:)

Yes, this is where America is today. Hard to believe its us against the religious nuts who are taking over an entire party of illiterates who can vote.(and the worst of all-- reproduce)

Nice alliteration in the second line, Shari.

Thanks, Ellen. My real message was the harm this will hopefully do to Obama's campaign. But then again, i don't like the Republican candidates any better.

Much as I a firm believer that woman should have a choice and that no religion should dictate anything to them, I also have to agree that no government has any right to dictate what a religion chooses to believe in, no matter how archaic. As someone I used to know said about the Pope. If he don't play the game, he shouldn't make the rules but that's another story. I don't think religion has any place in telling people in this day and age, what they should do in any regard but Big Brother doesn't have that right either. Your reviews should be interesting for this one Shari. xx Pix

Exactly. But actually my point was in the last line--a hope to get Obama out of office.

Poetic greatness my dear love. Well spoken and full of things they all should think about. I love the great and vast imagery you present and the awesome feelings you so delicately place around. Thank you for this great poem.

Spitfire my friend, there has been so many spins on this topic that it's almost impossible to know whose side God is and who is on God's side; wonder how much time you spent to find this magnetic artwork, just majestic!

Isn't that child beautiful? I just plugged in "prayer" and found this on page 3 or 4, I believe. I wrote another senryu on the opposite view. Actually, my message didn't come through because I couldn't add another line -- put Obama out of business!

Well, Shari, I could have taken the easy way out and just skipped replying on this one, but my feelings are too strong. Let's put aside the abortion issue because both sides have valid arguments. The Catholic Church is still living in the dark ages with regard to their pitiful attitude about contraceptives. Preventing an unwanted pregnancy is the obvious solution to avoiding an abortion. ########sorry, I was just biting my tongue or should I say chewing my little fingers. Okay, I'll just leave it at that.

Actually, I agree with you. In fact I posted a poem on the other side. I'm not getting much response on this. Maybe, people are thinking the issue and not the play on words in the satori-- en masse -- mass ?
reply by Louise Michelle on 23-Feb-2012
I figured you were liberally minded, Shari, especially after a piece you posted regarding your husband's bold move against nuns. This is a hot button issue, my friend, and I was so emotional I didn't even try to approach your clever poetic treatment. When I think about the barbaric stupidity in this world, it just makes me want to cry. And the way religions manipulate the masses frustrates me so much. Time for me to sign off-I've been very emotional all day. Hugs, Lou
