Jack, I am a bit obsessed with the entire Hitler era of dictatorship and cruelty, and why so many people followed him, some being worse than he. Thanks for reading, Linda

I remember the shock I felt in school, the first time I found out the depth that humanity is caple of sinking too.IT still shocks and sickens me today.I wathched the "Diary of Ann Frank" with my Pastors widow and one of my best friends, at the end of the movie she stated(Ann) that she believed poeple were basicaly good.I turned and asked Miriam if she thought that were true.She said something next that upset me, and still does.She said "No"
and beleive she's right.Put three children in a small room together with two toys and see what happens.God bless you Linda-Michael.

Hitler and his "club" were demons, monsters. I am a bit obsessed with that entire story from the 1930's until Hitler's death. Linda

This poem is both very moving and very well wrought. Your empathy is especially well expressed through the senses, "I feel...their hunger, "I smell..."" and "I taste...." But to me, what raises the poem to the six star level is its complete lack of sloppy sentimentality. The images of the people are grim, the look of the camp is gray and dismal, all of which gives your last line all the more impact. And it is a powerful image! Wonderful poem.

Graphic: I cring when I see the expression "Arbeit Mach Frei." No not in this case. I was glad to see this poem because of the controversy surrounding the holocaust victims being vicariously baptised by the LDS church - the Church claiming it to be an illegal move.
Your colour scheme enhanced the awesomeness of the situation and in image, I could see these souls. Although I was a mere infant when the War ended, I still see and gag at the holocaust pictures. Well done livelylinda ( I'm biaised as Linda is my favorite girl's name:o).

I have a dream to visit Auschwitz; to see the sign "Work will Set You Free", to sit quietly at night because I know the souls of most who died there have to be wandering around looking for their families. There must be hundres of thousands who have not passed on to Heaven because they are sure their families will return to them. I want to feel what there is to feel on those hallowed grounds. Linda, Thanks for reading. I am somewhat obsessed with Hitler, the SS and the war crimes so many people committed. I watch all the documentaries about Hitler's life and taking over of Germany.
I had already written another poem about Auschwitz but it wasn't what I wanted to say, this poem is much closer and I think hits on the emotional side a little better. Linda
