This is amazing writing, Charles, you get right inside your characters and the young Caitlin. You know very well the ways of children, you have brought them all to life so well. I truly admire you and your talent. :) Sandra

It was endearing to see the little girl giving kisses to Mrs. Kennedy and Heather. This is a bit of an 1800's Steel Magnolias. The bond between these women is very strong and is full of emotion and secrets that they share. Nice job.

Hi Charles,

This prose makes very good reading. I liked the exchanges between Caitlin and her mother when learning how to put dishes away without breaking, get off a stool properly, and ... stop running in the hallway. Her mother sounds like a drill sergeant. Not sure I'd want to hold her hand.LOL

But in the end, like most kids, her training showed with a polite curtsy when in front of an non-family member, Mrs. Powell.

Cheers,
DW

Hi Charlie, I like the voice dialect I hear in this one. I haven't read the other chapters so I'm not sure about the romance part, but I am sure the story is reading well and the conversation flows with a good realism. Nice work. xoxo deborah

That mama has an iron grip on her baby! Though I guess we all are overprotective of the first one. This is well written and it drew me in. Good work

I thoroughly enjoyed this chapter. Wee Miss Caitlin is a spirited lass. :D It was certainly good to see her mum made it through and they've all become family. Well done, Charlie. :)

I am so glad that SOB didn't return after that horrible night. Kathleen is a wonderful mother and Catlin is flourishing under the care of the family on women in the slum they are living in. Well done.

an amazing story .i have read some previous chapters that enables me to have some grasp on the story .writing a novel is not easy.i myself is the author of a novel and i know how much patience is involved in it ,a plane story with hardly any twist can not impress the reader.the writer has to develop the story in such a way that makes it interesting a good novel i must novel i must say

Caitlin is a fun child, full of love to the people around her. Her mother is a little too boring telling the little girl what to do every moment. (I've known people like this and they get boring)
I love your writing Charlie, I hope I don't miss the next chapter.
