There is so much one can say here. I agree in that he's missing what Bill Clinton, John Kennedy had, is soul, a fire within. He's a good speaker, but I sense he's going through the motions. A very insightful poem. Even ten years from now you could have a discussion on this one poem. Your words are well chosen! Les

Spitfire my friend, what else do you expect from a politician, that's typical of them to repeat themselves again and again and...the tragedy is we the people fall prey again and again and...still, I thought the speech was good.

To be honest, I didn't listen, but my hubby and others say he just repeated the same things he always says.

Well, well, you know why? You told me that hubby is a Gingrich fan, take care.

Wonderful. Well, if your point is Obama's State of the Disunion speech last night, I haven't seen so much redundancy since I ran the Department of Redundancy Department for the government.
Funny. You said more in eleven words than he said last nite. Dan :))

LOVE YOU for the sixer. State of Disunion speech is right. You are so full of quips.

Hi Shari. I like this...good for you to brave the sludge of politics. The last line says it all. In my opinion, lol! there is a group behind the scenes running the show and it will never matter WHO is elected, the Military Complex will roll on, unchallenged and mighty, to create their New World Order. That is the ultimate goal. Sad, that most in the U.S. just don't care. Nice poem. Hope it's okay to speak my opinion...hug, Susan

Susan, I think you're spot on. Doesn't matter who. What we need is a president who practices in universal love. Like that's going to happen.

A wonderful poem my dear one. So direct and to the point. He fails to see a lot more than just that. A nice way of putting it though. Let the reader decide how much of a swipe it is. They will definitely give their opinion. Thank you.

Thanks HP. Always happy to get your review. I don't think I'll hear from Democrats. LOL

Maybe not. You will find out. I went to Sarah's house for dinner and desert. I made the dinner she made the desert. It was a splendid evening. Tell you more about it later.

very good! All he needs to do is join FanStory and we would sort him out, my friend, then it would be:
Barak's new motto:
brevity's the soul of wit
got it from Fanstory

I ENJOYED your work, on many levels. (If you don't mind my saying.) I've thought the same thing. If you can't think of anything fresh, just keep repeating the old stuff! UGH

Indeed, You have said a lot in your poem. I see no end to the recycled game the presidency seems to play. I like political satre. Well done.

I don't know all the elements for a senryu, but sometimes that just doesn't matter. Potent poem. Not that it's about Barack (for me), but for the powerful message, so succinctly delivered. I wish. My kingdom for a six, and a shame this isn't in a comp, Shari. Top write. Cheers. Alyx.

Thanks, Alyx. Obama fans might be biased in rating. Hope they can put that aside.
