So often I have witnessed these events but I could not have put the wonder of it in the beauty of your words. The picture captures it exquisitly.

I enjoyed reading your poem very much. It is cleverly written and very well thought out. The moon looks very lovely when it's up in the daytime.

Again, it's the thoughts of children that can draw up so many things for us writers. My dad and I used to sit and go back and forth about what the thing in the moon looked like. It was like looking up and trying to figure out what the clouds looked like :)

Wonderful poem here, Jan. The moon has such a draw, I
think most people feel that sense of awe when you look
outside the window in the morning and there's the moon! I love it when they're just 'pingernail' size. So did my grandson Shane.
Great job,
Hugs,
Gayle

I understand what you are saying. The school I teach at starts at 7:30, when many of my first graders come to school the moon is still shining bright as the sun rises. They always rush to tell me. Children are just plain fun.

Hello Jan I liked your poem about seeing the moon in the moring
Yes it is a beautful sight.
You did well when you said--
the unexpected guest
of this fine day
the dimly lit moon
became
undeniably
the morning star

I call it day moon. I even wrote a poem about it. Must say, its an all encompassing thing, to see the moon in the day. Lexi must have been thrilled.

Your granddaughter sounds so much like mine, when she was about that age. The moon in the morning sky always fascinated her; and "Goodnight Moon" was our favorite book. But who am I to talk? I've always been fascinated with the moon in the daytime, too! Great poem. Thanks for bringing back some fond memories.

mumsyone, Lexi can "read" Goodnight Moon but actually it's more like she can recite Goodnight Moon and is so proud of herself while doing so -- thanks for sharing -- love, jan

Jan, I like the part about the unexpected guest of this
fine day the dimly lit moon became undeniably the morning
star. Isn't it wonderful how God's world inspires us to
write?
