What a beauty with Reggie the rat and Tommy had lost his brother, Timmy, so and Reggie went looking for him, but the elves must know something but they must avoid the elves at all costs. But really the Elves were really good folk, and looked after Timmy, even giving him tea. A bit of an epic, Sandra, but well done, this could belong to a whole book, beautiful piece of revival, well done, articulate, nice and smooth, aabbcc couplet rhyming, blessings. Roy

Thank you so much, Roy. I'm delighted you enjoyed the story. There are 11 of these in the one book, all fully illustrated now. I had intended them to be published separately, but the publisher said they would be better all together. I still think they would have been better singly. But, who am I to know what is right or not?? LOL! Thanks again, my friend. xsx Sandra

I certainly enjoyed this! I love children's stories and poems. This is a great story in a poem. Very well written, it has great flow and imagery, wonderful rhymes and meter, really very enjoyable to read. Congratulations on the well-deserved seal.

Blessings,
Anabella

A very good lesson for children not to go wander alone. Although this lovely story had a good and happy ending. It will still be better for small children to take care in the woods.

Sandra - this is a wonderful story. To tell such a long story and in good rhyme and meter is no mean feat. I read your author notes. Congratulations. You have a book of children's poems. 30 illustrations - I assume there is 30 poems in the book. The picture here is lovely. Congratulations on the Seal of Quality - well deserved. I never understand this Post Revived procedure - I notice a few on FS do this. I wish I had a 6 left as, if any poem deserves one, this does. Really your work is produced by the hand of a true poet. Warm regards Dorothy, a really cute poem. xxx

NO, just 11 story poems, with lots of illustrations. I have another 20 stories waiting to be illustrated, but this lot cost me a fortune so they are now gathering dust until I come up on the lottery, or this book sells big time. Both have a chance in a million to happen, :( You have to be a big name already these days if you want people to buy. Never mind, I enjoyed the writing of them, and I did get to do a book signing at Waterstones in Southampton! Thanks, my friend, for the lovely review and such kind words!! :) Sandra. xxx

That's wonderful Sandra - a book-signing at Waterstones, I am impressed, but not surprised. I hope you sell well. I know there is not a huge market for poetry books and they are not terribly popular, but I think a children's poetry book with good colourful illustrations, telling amusing stories would stand a better chance than others. Good Luck. Warm wishes Dorothy xxx

Thanks, Dorothy. I don't think you will see my name up in lights, Gruffalo got there first! :( Still, I have sold a few, fingers crossed more will go. xxx

The thing is Sandra it is just the achievement of having made it into print. Gruffalo may have beaten you to the post but somewhere, somebody beat him. What about Roald Dahl for example - One fish - two fish.....LOL. Dx

Wow. I went through two cups of coffee (one got too cold and had to be dumped), and made two trips to the lieu in the time it took me to read this epic children's poem, Sandra.
And people claim that MY poetry is long?

Still, it's a funny, well composed and well rhymed little poetic tale of two twins named Timmy and Tommy, as Reggie the Rat and Tommy, the twin who hadn't gone off into the woods to find the elf encampment, made their haste go find him before the twin's mum got mad.

Good work...

~Dean :)

LOL!! You are so funny, Dean, I will have to write a poem about you one day! Some of the others are longer, how is your staying power?? Thank you, my friend, for your fun review, I'm glad you managed to read it...in between the loo and the coffees, lol!! xsx Sandra

My staying power is grrrrrreat, Sandra. If I can sit through the films, The Godfather and The Deer Hunter, in one setting, I can sit through anything, LOL.

Thank you once again for another wonderful review and for more 6 stars! Knowing how precious these 6s are, I feel so honored by you. I have enjoyed reading all your reviews, and have really appreciated your reading so many of them. This book is being published later this year, which is so exciting, but that doesn't mean I think I'm perfect at writing. I know there is still so much for me to learn, and with people like you reviewing, I might one day reach a credible level of writing poetry. Thank you so much, Christina, for all your great reviews. xsx

I think this is well written and that the children will enjoy this very much. I think it's light hearted enough. And the illustrations would be amazing I think. You could brake the lines up into different pages and add illustrations for each one.

Thank you, keimosobie, for this lovely review. Your suggestion about breaking up the lines and adding illustrations, is exactly what I want to do, it's finding someone who can do the illustrations. Hopefully one day, someone will come along and say they can do it.Thank you again, I do appreciate your imput. xsx
