Your lines have a good steady cadence and the rhyming couplets are strong, which make for a good read-aloud children's story poem
Cyril the Squirrel's - add apostrophe for implied possessive
good proximate rhyme of spots and pox
You tell a good story of how childhood diseases spread like wildfire :-) Brooke

I am SO pleased you reviewed something of mine which led me first to your profile, and then to this. It's absolutely brilliant! Honestly, the rhyme and flow (sorry cadence!) are spot on, as is the content. I so look forward to reading more and I'm certain a publisher would love this. Good luck!

Interesting and lively story, Sandra.
Reads well and has a clearly established location and situation.
Pleasant with changing scenarios and witty humour.
Easy read for children.
Handles the spread of chickenpox in a light and tactical manner.
Best wishes.

I enjoyed reading your poem very much sandra. It is cleverly written and very well thought out. I think children would like hearing them, especially when they may be sick too.

Thank you, Piggies Grandma! That is a lovely review. I have always wanted to ask you, but thought you might think me a bit rude, but, your Granddaughter/son, isn't really called Piggie? I have funny names for mine!! Thank you for the review, again, Happy 2012! xsx

A tender nursery rhyme, which tells of a measles epidemic, cute story contained in a poem. Something that looked more in other times and now vaccines have eradicated.
It is a poem with rhythm and rhyme that children needed to be loved.
Congratulations!

Dear Sandra,
I love kiddies' poems. The necessity to maintain a simple, but insistent rhyme and metre to get the kids in and hold them is so terribly important as is, of course, the need to address subjects which they can understand but which also stimulates their interest. Yo have succeeded admirably on all counts here.
Regards
Reg

For a long piece, this had wonderful flow. It was playful and made me smile. Cute imagery with good use of descriptives. Great job!
