What on earth can you hope to find down memory lane, just blurred images struggling to transform themselves the longer they rest there. They are illusions that change each time with the telling of them. What feelings do you invest in them. They are false sentiments. Sentiments are feelings evoked by your minds; from senti meaning feeling and ment from mental concepts. They well up from the darkness of your unconscious and you try to breathe life into them. How can you breathe life into dead things. Now the moon is the symbol of our creative spirit. Why has it lost its charm? - EKim

Thank you for the review.
Well, its just indicative of a loss in the past and going down memory lane to find it in darkness.
its a senryu format.
Thanks!

When true love is defeated, one would face the sickness of depression, even under full moon night. The writer has nicely expressed the depression caused by such events in limited framed wards. It is praiseworthy.

Hello b1h2o3, This is an excellent entry into the 5-7-5 contest. It is a difficult thing to create imagery with so few words, but I think you hit the mark with this one. Best to you in the contest. ;) Chrisfiore

Aww the pain in this haiku is so obvious. It might have been a bad break-up, a long lost friend dissappeared or a demise in life, but life goes on. Time will heal all wounds and new strength will be found in new memories yet to come. Have hope, be strong!

What a very effective little poem. I am not usually a fan of these short forms, but I love the combination of actual and metaphoric images.
"Memory Lane" is such a familiar phrase, but how well you have sustained the picture. The lines feel very real and very vivid.
Best of luck in the contest voting.

A lovely 5-7-5 that brought back to me some sad memories of the past. The accompanying photo is perfect because it strengthens the mood of your piece. Great job!

I've often said these short poems are the hardest to achieve. Every word has to count and make the exact impact to be effective. This one does a great job at just that. Nice work. xoxo Kiwi
