What caught me was the ringing truth of the fact in those times, and still today, it is thought by society that someone's age determines the 'rightness' of their feelings. As though right and wrong has everything to do with age, and nothing to do actually being right or wrong. Which, of course, is wrong! :) Cheers, Holly

To Writingfundimension,
A very sombre story that captures the essence of motherhood and their limitless and unconditional love that they aspire to give.
There will be a time to mourn and a time to celebrate her life as a testimony of who she was to you and all she was in the eyes of others; but mostly to our Heavenly Father.

Thank you so much for your supportive and encouraging review, Charlene. I do believe in life after death and I hope to see my mother again. Perhaps all will be made clear then. Blessings, Bev

Your story touched me. It is well written and you related the events and surrounding circumstances beautifully. Nothing is over written which proves that the more simply things are revealed, the more emotion they can stir. I and my sister were separated from parents at a young age . We were in an orphanage and then a foster home. I had just turned 14 when my foster mother (who wasn't very nice) died.
My sister and I had no benefit of counseling and no ear to listen to anything we had to say. We are survivors and cherish every "good" experience and "good person" we encountered. They were substitute family and most never knew! ;) I felt the loss of your beloved mother as I feel the loss of my own (real) mother. Thank you for sharing.
Only saw one typo: There's a single quotation mark before 'spanking and none after the word. You have a talent for sharing a memoir in just the right way and with just the right words and progression of thought.

I really appreciate your beautiful and supportive review, Eleanor. It's sad that we understand each other through our mutual loss. And I am truly sorry to hear of how much you suffered after your separation from your family. Thank you so much for sharing your life with me - I find your words inspiring and comforting. It's so helpful to get such specific references to what works for the reader as you have so generously supplied here. Blessings, Bev

Beautifully written! Except for two little typos, I wouldn't change word of it. It isn't easy to lose a mother at any age, but to lose one at such a young age is a tragedy. I pray that you will find peace in your heart, knowing that you will see your mother again one day. Hugs...
stunned by the wisdom I found in her books and had instinctually (instinctively) hoped for many decades
And I felt that I had betrayed her by not doing everything I could to hold unto (onto) her.
