I just love this series. Why don't you compile all the episodes in to a single booklet? I'd prefer a more soothing (calm) artwork.

Following are what came into my mind while reading it.

"When we need light, the light of reason illuminates anything we can think."
- Do you need a light in heaven?

"Nothing here in Heaven has any material form or substance"
- Is it a kind of energy that exists in heaven?

"The floor of Heaven is like an illuminated glass plate"
- Isn't this bit contradicting as "..Nothing here in Heaven has any material form or substance"

"but those in Hell are aware of all they have done that got them there. Regret is felt, but not remorse, as they have come to accept their fate. They feel the pain of their own self-deception as due them and accept it."
-I love this thought. The greatest punishment is suffering by one's own conscience.

"We in Heaven know all we need to know without all that work and effort. That does not mean that we know everything, just what we need to know ..."
-Isn't this knowledge differs from person to person as they were enlightened in their mortal life?
(Having the same knowledge and understanding in the heaven seems somewhat less logical. For that the heaven has to have some kind of magical touch or something)
- I'm happy you remembered to tell us about the people who is about to come to mortal life. What about animals? Can't they go to heaven too or is this strictly for humans?

"Those of you who do not understand truth...."
- How do I know whether I understand truth or not?

"Don't bother praying to me or to any soul here. We do not get those messages. They go directly to God who knows all."
- Are they helpful at all? (I mean the prayers?)

"We, here in Heaven, trust in God and truth completely."
- Even in heaven, why? If all are exposed to truth or enlightened, why you need a God or faith? Or is God the existence itself?

Hi Mithma. You must understand the difficulty of saying anything about Heaven in heavenly terms that could be understood by mortals. You do not have the language of Heaven and I only remember the language of mortals when I try to communicate with you mortals. I have to use analogies and similes that you can understand. It is like Holy Scripture. How could one adequately tell a mortal what immortality is like? Buddhists have a hard time explaining what Nirvana would be like. It makes non-Buddhists wonder if there is such a state of being. Also Christians have a hard time explaining about the 'miracle' of virgin birth. All the facts of experience cause doubt. Muslims have a hard time explaining Allah to Jews or Christians. In Heaven we know without thinking, and do not need a language. It is like (simile) a stone (analogy) that knows (as opposed to sensing) what it is like to be a stone. You must have also wondered about how we can understand the word 'nothing'. How about 'cold' (absence of heat)? Finally, try to explain death to a child who has no knowledge of dying though before conception she did not live. For that matter, how can one understand the state of death while living? Language is a potent tool, but not adequate to describe Heavenly experience or philosophy. I intend to write more of these in time, but I do not know if I can assemble them in a coherent book form. Thank you very much for your detailed and thoughtful review.

O Oh..! Yes, I think I can get an idea. Thank you. We are fortunate be in your memories even while in Heaven.Do you know, that you can obtain certain 'Dyana' by meditating and after that you can see your previous state of beings and future state of beings?

fdgsr:

This is quite an interesting and intriguing fantasy
about which you write. I suspect most of us spend some
time during our lives imagining what it would be like
to live in heaven. I've recently been rolling around
in my mind the concept of great-grandparents who have
passed on having some input as to the infants placed
with their grandchildren, a topic you sort of broached
upon in this piece.

thanks for sharing
love,
jan

Thank you for the thoughtful review. I enjoy writing about such fantasies. I suspect you are right that 'most' people imagine heaven. I have done some genealogy to find out about my ancestors. The Internet is a great place to start. I personally believe Heaven to be an imaginary place no more real than the travels of Gulliver.

fdsgr, what can I say? I absolutely love this essay and it reveals alot more of the author betwen the lines. It is a bit sarcastic and totally tongue in cheek. Love it, love it, love it!!! This would make for a round table discussion, but the majority of the world is so indoctrinated and they choose to believe dogmas depite the illogical reasoning in it. Adore your truth lines. Truth is not necessarily truth but it is one's map of the territory and it is pretty accurate to them. The ending, more potent than you probably expected it to be..
I am the first to say I am a very spiritual person, but religion has me so perplexed, and thoses who choose to beleive the illogical perplexes me more. I could go on and on.. but I for one do not want to go to Heaven and walk around streets of gold!! Give me the warmth of nature right here. I have always wondered.. if one truly believes that Heaven is intended for them, then why do they try so hard to hang on to life when struck with cancer or some other terminal disease. Why don't they just say Hallelujah!!!!! Or if a loved one dies, why do they morn so if they truly believe they are in a better place. I am just putting the question out there.. that is all... I suppose that is why God said.. How can I tell you heavenly things, when you do not even understand earthly things?"
Love this work and your brilliance. I hope to catch up to everything in your portfolio soon.. jls

I am old by concepts of age when I was much younger. At 83, I spend some time contemplating my own death withing a shrinking time frame. When I was young it was fearful, but now not so much. I do not believe in a place of Heaven or Paradise. It is the source of comfort of those of us who are fearful of the finality of physical death. You are my kind of person.

old by concepts of age.. I like that phrase. As for Heaven, I do beleive but not in the axiom tyhat is so indoctrinated. Heaven to me is the expanse above the Earth, the moon, the stars, the galaxies, the whole universe and all its complexities and wonder. It is the brilliance and precision of the four fundamental forces in play within and beyond our breath. It is the emotion of wonderstruck at such dynamic beauty. As for death, I am not afraid of dying, for to me it is simply ceasing to exist, not being aware of any existence at all for the Scriputres speak of death as a finality, an ememy, in which there is no existence, nor memory beyond the grave... for the dead know nothing at all. What I am afraid of is living without purpose, without love or being loved, without joy, without fullfillment, physical and emotional, for opportunity abounds man, and I do not want to live without hope, the hope that my life made some sort of difference no matter how small. Hope that made sense to you.. you just gave me an idea to write of... you take care dear man... jls

Your heaven is a physical one. "...the expanse above the Earth, the moon, the stars, the galaxies, the whole universe and all its complexities..." The philosophic view of being is one of a hierarchy rather than a dimensional reality of substantial being. Time, space, mass, and energy are physical concepts of mathematical results, or mathematical expressions of a spiritual reality. The human being is capable of sensing only physical phenomena and suspecting noumenal being. Certainly any concept of God is noumenal, not phenomenal. There is no time, space, energy or mass in the noumenal world, but spiritual being in the phenomenal world. Thus the greater being is noumenal, rather than phenomenal. Phenomena occupy time and operate in a physical space. To say that God is "...greater than..." is a noumenal comparative. Any physical comparative does not apply to the God being. Thus the question, "Could God create a stone so heavy that He could not lift it?" is meaningless. Certainly two gods would be greater in number than one God. I have found Truth to be the nearest to a God concept. If there is God, truth is required. If there is no God, truth is required. Thus, whether you are an atheist or a theist, you believe in truth. A false statement is truly false. Even college professors participate in that charade. If a statement, false, is presented as a test of knowledge, the correct answer on the test is false. It is true that the correct answer is false. Heaven and spirit are of the noumenal world. Yet we act as though they are physical places and truly physical beings. The child concept of God is one of a physical being, not a spiritual one.

A fascinating description of Heaven and what eternal life is like there
A most thought-provoking discussion of how people communicate in Heaven and how they understand Heavenly truth.

Thank you Brooke. You always see the underlying logic of my posts. You also see the flaws when you find them. I try to correct my own grammar, syntax, and logic before I post. I don't always notice them. You are one of the reasons I like this site.

It is fantasy that you write and I'm glad you labeled it as such. But I have to give you the fact that it was an interesting and well-written read. I just don't agree with most anything you've written. (sorry) I still had to just the post on its merits. Good writing

Thank you for the mixed review. This was not intended to be factual. It is your reaction that forwards its credibility.

hat was a surprise as I had always wished that he could have known them before he died. I am reminded of the passage in the Qur'an about those in Paradise who experience anything their heart desires. Unfortunately, one French man interpreted that as having the services of 72 perpetual virgins. French men! It found its way into more than one English version of the Qur'an causing extreme misunderstanding of the concept of Paradise as imagined by The Prophet. The Prophet was mortal so he could only imagine from his prior Heavenly being with a mortal veil of uncertainty. Now The Prophet knows it as well as I do now.

I don't think I implied that. But, if that is what you get, who am I to counter?

Thank you for the thoughtful review. This is intended to be good clean fun. If it riles up the water for some, I guess that is what writing is supposed to do. It should clarify the stream of thought.

You have written about a subject that is close to my heart. I like the scientific and logical feel to it. I love 'truth is like google' that made me laugh. I think it's great that your vision is not impaired by having blinkers on. Well penned.

Indeed! The flat earth society is alive and thriving! I believe Christ's analogy to people being sheep was tongue in cheek, although which cheek remains in question...ha
