Hey, I read, I said,(To myself) "I understand what this lady is talking about!"
I don't post often, and only what I consider my"Best Stuff"(whatever that is, measured on my own wimpy scale with the bent indicator).
Generally get good reviews, and a lot of help with my flunked English Grammar, but I always seem to dredge up some disgruntled fuck that hates life, and vents his/her spleen on my effort.
While I am not a poet, or even a professional author, I do appreciate good poetry that really say something, and you said it.
And hey, thanks, huh?

I appreciate your thoughts and tend to agree. There are people here who take delight in attacking your character and not what you wrote...however fortunately there are many more much nicer people that give great reviews and support...and constructive critqique where needed.
I also find the bonus hits/reads after promotion an absolute compliment that people can be bothered trolling through your back blocks, just for a read and nothing else.

It's a shame but to me it seems that this place has become very cliquish. I've often wondered about those extra views too, I often go through someones portfolio so I can learn a little more about the poet, what they are concerned with, how they write, their background, etc. It's just a way of getting to know someone a little better. I love your anapestic meter (for some reason I keep pronouncing it "antiseptic" LOL , very well done and something you don't see much of here on fanstory. I've written a few myself then I always find it hard to switch my thinking back to iambic LOL. Take care my friend, this was an excellent write!

Wow what a sterling review Erica, thanks so much. I've been here coming up 2 years now and lately have not been able to post as often as I write due to family committments...2 rugrats (5 and 2)...I gotta be me though and say what I think which puts me squarely on a rickety old limb at times...I LOVE the f-bomb and I must admit lately it seems to be gracing more and more of my posts. Anyhow, re: the content - I have wondered about the missed hits from time to time (as do many) and pondered on what I may have lacked for some and perhaps given an abundance of for others! LOL
Glad I could put a smile on your face...I mostly write humour. Or at least attempt it...I guarantee at least 2 people a laugh...myself and one other! LOL
I appreciate the impending fanship too...I have checked out a few of your posts and I find your handle on the english language quite extraordinary...I am a little intimidated to be honest. I will go for a dig and check out some more soon I promise but time is against me at the mo.
Lastly the atheist thing...fact my friend...well, I'm kind of a bit agnostic too...I am not that ignorant I don't believe we came from somewhere...just don't follow God's faith...I run with my own.

Hey Z...not really...I just wondered about the statistics of the missed hits and thought it might make good fodder for a poem. Most people have about a 3 in 1 hit rate or sometimes worse or better...so it goes to prove you can not please ALL the people all the time...however I have found some readers go into your portfolio and read unpromoted work, don't leave a comment and thats fine...but it tells me they can be bothered coming to read it which I choose to take as a compliment. So there was kind of two layers to this poem...I am sure there are always a certain percentage who read and like, but don't get a chance to review for whatever reason which is fair enough...it has certainly had some interesting responses in review.

Thanks Hector for your supportive review, I didn't know I was enjambing for awhile to be honest but I am up to speed now. I loved your review and yes there are many reasons why people don't review. This IS how I feel but I am not hung up in anyway about having to please...I just sometimes wonder what proportion of missed hits were people that still read and liked but didn't get time to review.
I think we have to be confident that if at least half the crowd likes it, then thats plenty good enough. Many thanks friend.

Don't be ashamed, thats not what I was trying to do...just pondered the reasons and thought it might be good content to cover in a poem. I think we all have to be thankful of any hits and reviews we get. To write and share is wonderful.
