This is a such a nice story to share at this time of year. The writing is clear and visually descriptive. The sequence of detail is well done. The ending is good. too. It's especially nice to read John 6:35 which is perfect for this story.

What a touching story Jo. Funny how a lifetime passes us by with barely a notice. I can remember moving out on my own like it was yesterday...not 35 yr ago. So many good memories to cherish. Merry Christmas Jo, to you and yours.

Loved this one. You are at your best, when you deal with home family and you natural surroundings. My mother made a sausage stuffing, and as hard as I try it's never as good as hers. Happy Holidays my friend

This made me smile. An hour is nothing for a turkey of that weight, I am thinking three or longer. Anyway you could smile with your turkeymeat sandwiches instead of a real meal. Could you not just delay the meal and bung it back in for two hours. You were green and so too your cornbread dressing. I am sure today you have got it right, many eons later, and this piece had me feeling hungry, wanting to call round for a lovely turkey dinner.

Yes, I have got it right for some time now. Been cooking the holiday meals for a very long time. :o) I was 17 when this meal mishap happened. Glad my story made you smile. Thanks for the stars and the review.

I enjoyed reading this
it was interesting and informative but even thought you started talking about serious matters of trying to make your first Christmas meal
I did feel for you but it still had a lot of humor
Which made me smile
I am glad you have succeeded now in learning
Although nothing ever tastes like mothers cooking
Well done

We stuff the bird and them make an extra big pan of dressing, and yes there is no dressing as good as moms...very nice story and a memory you'll have forever. God bless.
