That is a great picture. The tree must be really old. I love your poem. You speak mostly of family. That is what is important to me too. Family having fun together. Great work.

It is a nice little poem, one that you might write in a Christmas card to send to a friend. I think for a contest entry it is missing a lot of the holiday spirit. I would want to see this poem expounded upon, maybe talking more about the warmth, comfort, etc. of the women all in the kitchen cooking Christmas treats,etc. and the security of having all the men in the family gathered by the fireplace talking about sports, world events and the cost of gas.
You have a great base for a poem which could be so much warmer and friendly and have a better chance at winning this contest. Just my humble opinion,
