What a wise philosophy you express here :-)
excellent consonance of L sounds in reevaluate, learn and relearn/evolve
I love the image of veering off our path towards a new tomorrow
good alliteration in wait and wonder
This is a thought-provoking poem that could start a great discussion : -) Brooke

As you so aptly put it we do gain from loss. Sometimes it takes awhile to realize what we've gained. You have listed numerous things to be gained from loss. I wonder why we dislike loss so much?

Your piece really encompasses past present and future. It is well written with the truth of life in there. I love the artwork that you picked to go with it!

So our past doesn't define us? haha. This is nicely done and I had to read it twice to appreciate it. Pretty picture to compliment the words, great colors, nice feeling. :)

Debbie, A great poem full of wonderful wisdom! We must learn from the lessons along our journey, else we are destined to repeat them till we 'get it'. A beautiful poem of loss. Thank you for sharing this. Lil

Great poem Debbie! IF only I didn't have so MUCH loss, I may learn...to accept, and move on..but my losses have been catastrophic. So, I live with much bitterness...your poem is well written, I love how you keep improving ! And my apologies if I hit save too fast...I was doing spell check! Love you! susan

I am glad you liked it and found it inspiring. I have gained so much more than I have lost. It took a while for me to figure that out. Focusing on what you have to be grateful for rather than what my problems are has really helped me. When I don't feel well, I write a list of all the things that I have to be grateful for. It really helps me to focus on the positive rather than obsessing about the negatives. Thank you for reviewing and take care, my friend. Have a wonderful day!!! Debbie

May I say....Amen! I love it when poems use so few words but mean so very much about how to face adversity and gain a sense of hope and direction.
I'm beginning to become aware that the bad things that happen form a fertile ground (I'm referring to a 4-letter word here) to plant the seed to awareness. And yes, it's frightening. But poems like yours give me more courage each time I read one about what's on the other "side" of the pain.
Blessings to you my friend. These are wise words indeed. (and that picture is gorgeous!)

I take it you are thriving in your writing class as you keep putting out some real gems.
From the greatest loss comes opportunity -- well stated.
very well done, Buck

dejohnsrld, my friend, love the sublime message in your wonderful, upbeat poem..."Having wisdom from the past,"--indeed, loss makes a person stronger to face challenges in life and to explore new realities, great job.
