Damn, damn, damn!!!!!
I had already copied the desert bit to crow loudly, "Gotcha", when you first of all gazzumped me with your note and, worse still, when I rushed off to Wiktionary, I found you were right. I can now see I have got my just deserts for being so cocky.
Apart from that the poem is nothing out of the ordinary apart from its somewhat brilliant rhyme, metre and funny bits and I know you were thinking of me in penning your penultimate line.
Not bad for a Kiwi.

I only put in the note because I always thought it had to be desserts and I had gone rushing off to check the dictionary too, so we do think alike, ergo.....

Thanks, Inge - I just put pen to paper and the nonsense comes flowing out - someone suggested I must have been working on this for a week, but really I got the bulk of it done in an hour on Friday night in front of the telly (gotta do something to fill in the ad breaks) and then added a couple of new stanzas Sat. morning and posted it - sadly enough it is now rivalling my pantoum (which you have also reviewed) which I did expend time and effort on! Go figure...

I avoid ad breaks by recording everything - but perhaps I've made a mistake! Perhaps if I had them subliminally permeating my brain, if might become as fertile as yours :D
