This is an excellent story about a woman who was murdered for expressing her beliefs. I enjoyed this read and found one nit:
"Evil still reigns, and it's [its] ghosts still haunt the place that I called home."

Susan, a story has conflict, climax and resolution. You have good descriptions of the place and partial descriptions of two events, but no complete story of either. Why not pick one story and tell it fully? :) Nancy

Truth is far stranger more frightening than fiction, I most definitely agree. This is a wonderful story about strength of character in the face of Evil. I cannot imagine the courage it must take for someone to confront a frightening, insane mob motivated by ignorance and hatred. The reality is many did. Wonderful story and I love how you told it from the daughter's POV. Very, very nice work with this one.

It feels like I'm reading two different pieces in this short work. The first two paragraphs are very long compared to the rest. I did not like the transition.

You know that I like a good ghost story. You really have a knack for writing these great and believable stories about haunted locations. You really should consider a much larger one, maybe a book. I did find one area where a few different words could make it sound better. You write, I keep going, the path is more grown up. Why not try, I keep going, the path is thicker. Kudos. ;)
