this piece needs a bit of rearranging, the opening is quite intreging then shifts to a woodpecker perhaps that can be the last paragraph, the title suggests a phantom memory but doesnt give any depth to the writers feelings some lines are cliques also.

Your haunting story is superbly written. I dub the queen of horror. Excellent descriptive writing and great narrative. In this story you've effectively managed to give the reader main character, setting, conflict and resolution. You do a good job showing instead of telling. If she was your mother wouldn't you have said when I remember Mama? You could word it differently than remembering if you don't want us to know she was you mother until later. I love the line where you say "We came home and home was dead."

HI there! I am still fighting this nonsense too. This story is a was of describing how my life has been ruined by certain people, who revel in tormenting me. It really is getting old. Don't know how to describe it. BUT, thank you again for being here for me Miss Caterpillar! xoxo, susan
