I do remember the story and I will honor your wishes and not read ahead. I am glad you are picking this story back up. I enjoyed reading it.

This is the first post I have read by you. First, you write beautifully, and I found no errors. The story with the history of the manor and then shifting to the present was well done. I can't really comment on characters or story lines at this point, but I am interested in reading more.

Take care,
Russell

Well written story line.

"Mia and Luke" are going to have their hands full, and they do not even realize the arena they are soon to be entering.

Leaves that "what is going to happen next" question.

Ooo! Good cliffhanger ending! Sound like a good classic ghost story, and if I had the book in my hands I would definitely keep reading! The events were easy to follow. My only suggestion would be to go over the dialogue for words that are more natural in a conversation:

"It's nothing, .... Maybe...I've re-injured (my instead of the) right ankle?

"Remember me telling... It would be more conversational to say give than offer... and remember than recall...and going back instead of returning...and then instead of at which time...

Best of luck with your book!

Regarding your notes - I'm already confused! Did I miss a chapter? It's too long between posts! (I know, my book chapters too...) But how did we ---oh, duh! Never mind. I figured it out.

Anyway, Bev, I am THRILLED to see my favourite book continuing. I shouldn't even be reviewing this right now because I don't have any sixes and this chapter is outstanding! Not an un-dotted "i" or an un-crossed "t" - LOL.

Hi, Dawn. Thanks so much for this wonderful review. I really appreciate the encouragement.

You're correct, it's been way too long which makes me appreciate your loyalty to the story all the more. However, I am going to be getting on with re-posting more regularly. I have about six more re-writes before I start with some new ones.

Sorry for the confusion in the opening. I think, as one reviewer said, it was a bit much without having the previous chapter fresh in mind. That's a legitimate comment as I did take a risk with the way it was presented.

I'm so glad most everyone who has reviewed is enjoying the story line. The subject fascinates me, and I sometimes forget that lots of people don't believe in the supernatural. Though, honestly, I don't know how you cannot :)

Hope all is well with you. Have a great weekend,

    Hi, William

Thanks so much for taking time to read and review my post. I'm happy you liked the chapter! I'm working on getting another one out next week.

It's great to know that others enjoy the story line as much as I do. I've had a life-long fascination for the paranormal. Got it from my grandmother who was a true believer.

    Much appreciated!

So much mystery in your amazing story. Could this be based on a story you heard? Why would someone hide in the attic with her artwork? You have alot of details in this that makes us want the next one now. You also have great writer friends helping you. Brooke helped me in poetry. Thought I would stop by on the other side. Hello, F. Oh, I do miss Brooke, as I'm sure you do too. I enjoyed all the classes I took with her, and always appreciated her reviews. She's a classy lady.

I do have plans for the bad guys, believe me. I'm glad you found the story mysterious. That's what I was aiming for.

    Much appreciated!

You have really excellent prose, this part- "Her life, to that point, was insular and sheltered like the hot-house orchids pressed into superiority by her determined mother." - Was what really gripped me right away.

I thoroughly enjoyed this piece. I have not read any of your other work, but that did not diminish my understanding of this chapter. You really told the story--you explained and laid it out very well.
