Emily, the contest you've entered is for a three line poem that has 5,7,5...yours is a 5,7,5,7 and has four lines.
I liked the poem.
It is a succinct thought process for such few syllables.
But it doesn't meet the rules.

The simplicity of this post is very deep.
Trees have roots and don't forget to wake up in spring.
A picture of a forest would give it more umphhh!
