The comparison of words to a knife is SO appropriate. Words at times can be sharper, riping apart the bone and marrow of the soul. Your 5/7/5 is GOOD

Words do leave a lasting scar. You have said it very well in your 5-7-5 poem.
Words cut like a knife. (they sure do, especially angry ones)
Jagged edges-broken lives. (a usual resulting hurt)
Shattered forever. (Unfortunately, you can't take them back
It is never good to blurt out words in anger. you can't unsay them.
