Interesting! I thought it was going to be reasons why you loved "the boy". It turns out to be a list of hated things. Excellent and very subtle. I like that. Good job!

In America, being "mad about" something is slang for saying you really like it, so I was a little confused by your song lyrics until I got down to the Norway story; then I knew you were saying you are angry about all these things.
I find it hard to think of these non-rhyming lines as a song, without hearing them sung.

Mad also means crazy in English-looked it up indictionary

This could be put to music. It has a definite strong beat that is indicative of the anger. I like the form and agree with the justified anger many feel.

Thanks for your kind review Dallas.
It is after a song, but song is about being in love; I know the jazz version. Tried to put it up as well, but ended up in some weird program, so I had to set computer a few days back.

Hi Ine

A very clever concept. I love how you have used the old song. It works so well. Bravo - invented a new form, it might just have a following. Why don't you create a contest using this form with a line from an old song?
The couplets work a good rhythm, also those who remember the song must find the tune come to mind as they read, it did for me.
Great and timely sentiments expressed, could also be in the commentary and philosophy category.
Great work. Warm Regards - :) Lovinia xoxo

My pleasure Une - great work. Off to make dinner - my husband is probably starving ... or given up. HaHa. He made a great dinner last night.

Hi Ine, and yes, are we not all mad about the boy, so to speak and all the angry things which are occurring around the world. The politics, the financial crisis, the terrible events in Africa.
I really enjoyed this well written and thought provoking poem, my friend. Thanks for sharing and warmest regards, Marijke :o)

Well said. It strikes a chord with me. Speaks of culture as a whole. Can't understand why with so much progress, the world is spinning backward.

To Robina1978,

A summary of things that you feel are degrading or insulting to the people that this boy has not been made accountable----if only to spend his life in jail.
I liked the format but I wonder if it wouldn't sound better with the word "with" instead of "about."
In the end though, it really doesn't matter as long as you have got the message across.
Charlene

Thanks for your kind review, I am mad about the boy is the first line in the song- so like to keep it this way.
    Have a great weekend.

Ine, my friend, don't be so mad.

I'm sure writing it all out is cathartic and probably eases the anger off.

I enjoyed this inventive, individual poem. Really well done, my friend.

Coop.

This is a very good poem about unrest in these times. The art work was also a good choice for this piece. I enjoyed to read your take on all of this.
