This chapter makes another excellent addition to your story. It definitely holds the readers interest all the way to the end and makes them wonder what additional trouble Mrs.. Rogers is going to cause.

I'm going with 6 stars, barbara. I've read previous chapters and the story is developing really well. I'm afraid Mrs.. Rodgers is stealing the show for me. She's a real piece of work, intent on causing trouble. Isn't it a wonder how those mothers always stick up for their no-good sons? This really captured my interest. Will be curious to see what other problems Anna encounters as she begins her new life. Good luck with the back-to-school routine.

Another well written part of your book Barbara. I could almost hate people like Mrs. Rodgers! I have just seen something very interesting in your author notes viz. that women who actually stay are safer off than those who leave! It just shows that once you marry someone like Bobby you are in a lose/lose situation. That was one of the reasons I moved over a thousand kilometres away from my ex. I definitely see why Bobby is the way he is. This is a good chapter. Anna seems to be getting stronger mentally and she seems more determined. Keep writing this is a wonderful story.

Oh, I do like Paul's sense of humor. Adding his fee would be justice. He can always donate it to charity if he chooses.
Getting a clean title to Anna's car is going to be a headache. That signature poses DMV problems. Of course, it's custody leverage, so it may be worth the bother.
How are they going to keep Anna safe after hearing that Bobby's threatened Anna's life re the car? We know what restraining orders are worth.
