There used to be a place near where I live where one
could see lights down a set of old, abandoned railroad
tracks which supposedly had a light on it sometimes --
who knows?

I really enjoyed your story
thanks for sharing
good luck in the contest
love,
jan

Wow! This is scary! I really believed those boys and their car disappeared. Could that have been the Northern lights- Aurora Borealis? There are strange things happening and we hardly hear about them. Great story! V.A.

")) HA! I love your review! I am thrilled to know you got a kick out of this...in reality, the lights are just there, no one is near them...no trees to hang a light from and they do bob around, but people don't disappear....THAT I HAVE HEARD! "))) Thank you Angel! I appreciate your time for me!

Wow! What good story writing and good story telling. I have never heard of this legend, but I will be sure to stay off of County Road 250 East! LOL

Hi William! Thank you so much! I am very happy to see you enjoyed this! Actually the lights are harmless, I am going to go see them again sometime. I had a girlfriend tho, who was with me the first time I saw them, and she was so scared! I still smile remembering how she tried to hide behind the carseat! ")

He drug on his cigarette - dragged
pickup roared to a stop. The hot, dry dust billowed - I added the period
You get inside the mind of this small-town cop really well, Susan
piercing the dark out through the woods. The silence - I added the period
my folk's say their just swamp gas - drop the apostrophe from folks and change their to they're
Oh, I really like this eerie story, Susan - the pacing is just right and the creepy factor works :-)

Well told, with just the right amount of reality mixed with legend. I'll bet it;s a favorite spot for HS kids to test their bravery. Well written, Susan. :) Nancy

HI Nancy! Thank you so much!! MANY hugs and a smile for this kind review...it is a place to go...I was there years ago and hope to see them again soon. In reality they are not harmful. But they do bob around much like the Marfa lights in Texas! ")) xoxo

Cool story, author. The Blue Light Ghosts of Renselaer sound like Indiana's version of the Bermuda triangle. Yikes!

One editing note: But my FOLKS say THEY'RE just swamp gas anyhow.

That's that, my friend. You crafted a solid, urban legend and creepy story.

Sincerely,
Coop.

A good Thriller story for this presentation. I enjoyed the reading of this piece. Nothing like aliens to liven up a night.

And you say this is based on true facts? Whew! Sounds spooky and like a place one should be going into. I couldn't stop until I read it all. You told this so realistically. Thank you.

Hi there! SO glad you liked this. It's based on a real phenomena, but people don't get carried off. Just odd lights bobbing around! Just north of where I now live! ")) Hug!
