I think I might be partial. But in any case I have no doubt your mother played a part in the flowers being brought back into the picture after being dismissed by the florist. Much the same way I know she will be stopping by to see what you're up to on her birthday. She is the hand that's on your shoulder..

    Edwin,
What a beautiful tribute. She was quite the lady. I have written a number of poems about her. I am definitely my mother's daughter - in so many ways. She is never more than a thought away... As for the flowers, the florist and I still remember that day...almost seven years ago. And yes, I do believe my mother had her hand on my shoulder...
"She Knew" and "In Her Dreams" will break your heart... There are days I cannot revisit them...

    Thank you, friend...

Hello Mrs. KT

My husband and I owned a flower shop for 40 years. When our children got married, we did their flowers. I know the care expected to be given to any bride's flowers, and especially a granddaughters. Our grandgirls are not old enough to marry yet. I do wish for the miracle of my husband and I creating their bouquets when they are. Then not only would it be made from flowers, but made out of love. I really enjoyed your story. Thank you! :)

What a lovely story and yes, I do believe in miracles, this was one of them. Her grandmother did it! I'm sure of it.
I'm curious now to find out how this flower looks like, I've never heard of ranunculus.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful story.

Miracles are amazing things. And it is obvious that your mother wanted to be part of your daughters wedding. It is a very lovely and touching story and it brought tears to my eyes, and made me think of my own dearly departed mother. Thank you. God Bless

This was a lovely story. I too believe in miracles of all sizes. White flowers are my favorites, too and they usually have the best fragrance. This is very well written and heart touching.

well a grandmother wants her granddaughter to have the perfect wedding so there is certainly more to the arrival of the flowers than coincidence, btw, where in Great Britain do the family come from?

This brought tears to my eyes. I hope something like this happens when I get married. Although, I want fake flowers, not real ones, maybe something will happen with something else. I love your attitude even when you didn't think you were getting that flower. Your mother was certainly there when your daughter got married and that was probably her who go those flowers there at that exact moment. Saying everything is going to be fine now because I'm here. I'm sure your daughter is going to have many, many years with her new husband and I wish her all the best

God works in mysterious ways, but always at the right times. I enjoyed reading your short story. It was emotional and heart warming.

It is only a little bit spiritual, but a lovely story nevertheless.
Finding the right flower in time and then to go with your mothers hankie, must have been magic to you and your daughter.
It looks great-as I assume it's in the picture complementing you and your daughter.
Grabbed my attention all the way.
Thanks for sharing such a treasured memory.
