Congratulations on your contest win for this delightful poem.
Your lines flow well and you use abcb rhyming effectively.
Delightful description of the smiling, teeth-gleaming dragon, his nostrils spouting steam.
Nice touches of alliteration.
Love the ending :-) What a smile-inducing read :-) Brooke

What a fun children's stoy--reminds me of the kids book about a boy who gets an alligator keychain from a relative--he bathes it and it grows, becomes alive and he has a marvelous adventure. Nice rhymes and "bouncy beat". You made me smile! Good luck in the contest.

Many thanks to you for the encouragement. I would love to know the title of the book you mentioned.

I just love this.It reads along so well and with definite bouncy rhythm like a boy with a dragon in his wagon might have ... kind of a 'Travolta' strut.LOL
Befriending a strange kid(the dragon) was a nice thing to do. So this is about a nice kid and his day. That's an easy theme for a kid to get. The whole town rewarded the boy. It had so many things in it that kids relate to: a wagon, part, slide, monkey bars, high five, wantin' to be cool, wiener roast, children together in the wagon, pulling the wagon, ice cream, parents that don't believe in 'magic', make-believe.

This is charming and delightful! Oh if we could only hold onto our imaginations as adults! You've spun a great poem, so light-hearted and fun!

What a wonderful, delightful tale. I'm sure that kids will love it (as well as adults). I know I did. You've done a great job with the writing prompt. Good luck in the contest!

This is just too much fun for one poem! You might consider making it into a children's book. Which I am sure many an adult will read as well! It carries a spark of magic which grows to fire the imagination! I really have no suggestions as it is a delight!. But perhaps someday consider sharing it as a book for children big and small? Great Work!

This is cute and fun and would probably make a delightful children's book. I enjoyed it from start to finish and what truth you write about grownups. We have truly lost our sense of playfulness. Really good story
