You seem to build up slowly and gradually to where you want to go,keeping the attention of your reader all the time.
Like the way Anna comes over specially.
The characters and dialogues impress realistic.

Although I haven't read the previous chapters, your synopsis explains the scenario very clearly.
The storyline unfolds well and the dialogue is good.
The situations and characters are believable, as they play out a situation that must transpire many times daily, worldwide.
Just a tiny suggestion. 'On their way to Anna's 'former residence'... 'Former residence' sounds a little bit stilted - maybe 'the home she had shared with X (name.)
