I found it boring like you said, but I'm gonna stay with it. I got more out of your authors notes, interesting. Maybe had I had this information 28 years ago, I would not have had to live an abusive marriage of 14 years, who knows. So thanks a lot for sharing and I'm looking forward to your next chapter.

I didn't think this chapter was boring at all. It is well written; the dialogue is good; and it's bringing Anna closer to having a somewhat "normal" life.

This is not only a well written chapter, barbara, but absolutely necessary to your story. Finances are a big barrier to leaving a failed marriage, abuse or no, and the abuse victim has been made to believe that they can't make it on their own. And many of these women haven't handled money since their marriage and have no idea what things cost and how to juggle. They need help with this aspect of the transition as much as they do with the initial act of leaving. Great job. :) Nancy

This is not only a well written chapter, barbara, but absolutely necessary to your story. I thought it was a very good chapter,not boring at all. Do you realize how many people do not know how to do a budget of any sort.I loved the way Paul helped her figure hers. In her situation she may not have had experience. Very good chapter. I sense some more problems before all can be well.

She did not know how to do this. I mentioned in a previous chapter that Bobby took care of all the money. I probably need to bring that up again. Thank you for the kind review.

I'm sorry. How could that story be boring? Sometimes I think that reviewers think they have to find something negative. I think it is just as important or more important to say what works.

I disagree with your contention that this important chapter is boring. You kept the details of a monthly budget short and provide good food for thought.
This is a necessary part of escaping from an abusive relationship. It is also an part of life that is often overlooked. Anna, for example, has never been on her own. Somebody else has always done the family planning; first her family and then, no matter how dysfunctional, Bobbie.
If you wanted to add a little more drama and perhaps more fear for Anna, you might have Anna recognize some one working at one of the apartments. Perhaps Bobbie's sister. There could even be a nasty scene. Maybe heaping some blame on Anna. I am only suggesting this because it can be one of the major problems that arises from an abusive situation.
Overall, I like the realism of this chapter and the willingness of good people to help out a young woman with a baby.
