Lovely poem and stunning picture to go with. Nicely rhymed and flows right off the page. Very descriptive with vivid imagery. Good Luck in the contest. Deb :0)

Thank you for your kind words - this piece was unusual for me so, sure enough, it's the one that gets nominated for PoM!

Absolutely beautiful. I just love fantasy poetry that rhymes so rhythmically well.I think you covered every famous fairy elf and sprite there is. This deserves the six stars.

Excellent poem. Couldn't find a thing that I would have changed about it. You've created a delightful little paradise & made it seem real to us. The words and rhyme flow smoothly & the alliteration just inserts itself here & there and keeps right on flowing beautifully. Lots of good poems in the voting booth this time, but this one's definitely my pick! Six-star rating is well-deserved.

Thanks for your great review - I'm glad you enjoyed my Fairy poem - it is doing quite well in the contest - currently sitting in second place behind a very strong poem...
I had fun writing this pretty piece which is a bit atypical for me.

This is delightful -- set my soul to clapping. I wish I had a six star rating left, but instead I will just have to fling stardust. Best to you with the entry.

Thanks for the applause and the fairy dust - may just need it if this is to haul in the runaway leader in the competition, but I am pleased to see my impromptu fairy piece matching it with those in the running for second place.
    Thanks again.

This is a lovely fairytale you've described--a fantastical scene of the fey at play. Your broken quatrains in aabb pattern read with just the right lilt and cadance--the syllables bump and bounce right along to the beat of fairy feet. I enjoyed both the poem and the artwork.

This is one of the best poems I have read here in a long time. It's perfect, taking me to this Fairy Playground as surely as if I were there. It seems so effortless, yet I know you worked to get this just right. Congratulations on a wonderful piece of work.

    Thank you, Joan.
Do you know how a clever phrase or rhyme will suddenly pop into your head - that's what happened with this one - I got the beginning and then I just had to build on the whimsical idea of all the fairies. Not my usual cup of tea as I tend to write more humorous stuff - I think of this as my 'pretty' poem. And yes, you are right - there was work involved to get the rest of it into shape!
Thanks for becoming a fan, too. I shall try not to let you down. Feel free to peek into my portfolio...

I love fairy poems and have written a few myself, as I owned a few (or they owned me) as a child in the hills of Appalachia. There is a magic and a whimsy to the ones done well and this one is excellent with wonderful imagery. Congratulations on your POM nomination and the best of luck to you in the contest!

Great work!

Thank you, Sweet Pea - a fellow competitor I see, so congratulations to you too. I have already reviewed yours I think. Your poem and mine stand out as the only light-hearted ones amomgst some pretty intense stuff - looks like intense may win the day.... :o(

Nicely done poem here. It has a very fluid flow to it. Each word and line rolls right off the previous one naturally. It's well written, creating a whole imaginary world the reader can be submersed in. I liked the knowledgeable references to, and uses of mythological beings and the character of Puck. Shows you're very familiar with this sort of setting and it isn't just another poem about some fairies in the woods. Good work and good luck! Peace -Bep

Thanks, Bep - glad you liked it. This 'pretty' style is not my usual thing, but this one came to me in a rush. Those who know my writing have had a chuckle, but I guess the laugh's on them if someone liked it enough to nominate it.

Hi there! I wanted to review all the nominees before voting. This is so charming and dear, kiwisteveh! The visuals you've created through your words are marvelous and it is beautifully rhymed and metered to carry your story!
I LOVED it!! Good luck!!

    Thanks, Judian.
This is not really my cup of tea, but it just popped into my head complete with the first few lines so I just had to try my hand at pretty. Just checked the competition - my only hope is that voters will go for sweet and easy over intensity and depth!
