This poem represents what a true legacy should be about. What greater gift to pass on to our children and other loved ones besides the lesson of truly living our dreams and schemes.

Don't ever let life pass you by. It's too short. Good work@

The poem is about a life lived as the poet wished, probably traveling, not pay lip service to social mores. The wording is straightforward and talks to the reader. The message seems to be not to be a conformist, so easy to do this day and age. I took it as good advice, but something most mothers wouldn't say, maybe. A call to the gyspy soul in all of us. Didn't see any spags.

The poem is by the love poem, even though he write about the political. He rewrote again for love poem but the theme is for the politician. So the poem can be a lot different new way to write about. The poem is not just for love but for a lot of imaginative and thoughtful meaning as we can write for. The poem is not just for love.

The matador picture beckons the reader into your poem. I liked the immediate use of the "pilgrim" simile in your philosophic free-verse. Best wishes in the contest. -Joan

I see Sinatra's "I Did It My Way" in this poem. The philosophy was well done here. I may have disagreements with it, but I do appreciate the skill in its presentation.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I'm not quite sure what to say about this poem other than it captures the point of the prompt. If you were shooting at a target, you hit the bullseye. Good luck in the contest.

Blood sports are not really my thing. Your poem seems to a metaphor to say that anything you do you have to live with. For each of us there are things that we have to contend and live above to gain some satisfaction with our lives. But as I said blood sports are not my thing. You are brave to present things this way.

Your poem for the writing entry prompt is unique and interesting. I love the line And be able to say, I am my best friend. It goes along with, people have to love themselves before they can love another. Kat

You managed to sum up an entire life very succinctly in only eleven lines, well done. I particularly enjoyed the ending:

As I look down the farthest side of my life with age,

Fulfilled and understanding in all, and truly content

to have lived a life that was of my own choice

Perfectly portrays some-one looking back over their life completely free from regrets.

Ezekiel.
