Who's a funny boy? LOL
This was a delightful read and although I hate blood and guts I was intrigued by the title and I am glad I dived in for a read. Superb rhymes, meter off a tiny bit in parts but the content was so great you're forgiven. This tale of a dead duck belonging to Bob was not only plausible, but had my showing empathy for the dead duck that had indeed swam and quacked an hour before. Superb silliness and simply stunk of a sixer steve. Your last stanza was deliciously brilliant. most importantly, true and me thinks Bob should have taken the duck and run when the first set of obs were taken. Would have been a darn site cheaper. Enjoy your sixer.
Cheers closet

Thanks for the Six - I appreciate it!
Poor old Bob was overcome by grief and not really making too many rational decisions here! Reminds me of the dead parrot sketch in Monty Python - he's just sleeping!

I know the feeling of the bill. I love the cat scan and lab report. You did a wonderful job on this one and I laughed when he got the bill.

Thank you - it's not an original joke, but it is a funny one.

Ha ha ha - that's a funny little story. Your rhyming is very good, no issues, and it moved along at a nice pace, no awkwardness or meter problems.

Thank you! I shall try not to disappoint. More silliness in my portfolio if you have time to scratch around in there...

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

That was an absolutely delicious Sunday morning read.

Your rythms and rhymes are perfect, but the story is simply a fun read.

What a very clever post.

Thank you - my accidental sense of timing must have worked well - you are not the first to mention the Sunday morning effect!

A fun poem, I love black humor, the poem is very well written and rhythm. Moral: All costs in this life. Thanks for making me laugh this Sunday morning.
Congratulations!

Dear Steve,
My whacky kiwi friend. What a hoot. The poem was a delight to read anyway, but the punch line, so unexpected, was the finest finish to a silly poem since Noel Coward.

Ah, I'll have to give credit to whoever came up with the joke in the first place, but it does seem to have fitted well into my 'poemising'.
    Thanks for the Six.

this is very well written, kiwi, a wonderful job writing this cute little ramble about the cat scan and lab report. i enjoyed reading this, the last two lines don't rhyme but have no idea how to fix it unless

my fee i waived to be a good sport,
but you bought the cat scan and lab report.

Have just had a discussion with jackpeg about the rhyme - you and he seem to be the only ones who have a problem with it - I an just putting it down to crazy Americans not really having a clue how to pronounce English properly! ;o))
Please tell me what words you think rhyme with 'bought'
I'm not cranky, just curious - to my ear it's a perfectly good rhyme.

I thought this poem had sadness mixed with humor
I loved how the poem flowed and it so reminded me of human decors there is no longer on doctor bill but specialist bill for every part of your body. Thank you for sharing.

This gets a six star review from me because I really got and excellent laugh out of read this and didn't expect the punch line at the ending at all. I enjoyed this poem thoroughly. It was just a joy to have read and written this response for... John
