I'm so sorry to hear Lexi had such terrible problems - I hope the fact you've been reviewing today and writing means she is better.
Your description of Lexi's fretfulness are vivid, easy to visualize and create such a sad mood
good use of alliteration
excellent internal rhyme of happenstance/perchance
and what a great scene as her hands work their way into prayer mode
I love the speculation that she and God are chatting
what a lovely hopeful conclusion :-) Brooke

Brooke: I wrote & reviewed as she was asleep in the crook of my arm where she fits so perfectly. She was really ill for 5 days, then began to turn the corner. We were blessed. Love, jan

Trust she is better now. So hard when those babies are sick but so thankful that the angels are taking care of them...love this story and the message...kathleen

That's the good thing about little ones; they are very resilient and recuperate quickly...so glad.

Thank you so much for sharing a beautiful free verse poem. I can't believe she really saw angels, wow! I actually remember a time in my life when something paranormal like that happened to me as a child, I wonder if children are just more open to those things, or perhaps so fresh from heaven they are given more visual guidance. Who knows?

I love this poem. The attention you have payed to this little one while in sleep is precious. You have been transfixed as her tiny hands came together under her little chin. Prayer mode. Perfect.

What a lovely poem and portrays a mother's dilemma each time her baby gets sick. It is so hard to predict how they will be and just when to take them to the doctors. Your unconditional love though will keep her well protected. Thank you for sharing.

Beautifuly baby. Well all babies are beautiful. But I loved the that you used this precious baby as your them. I loved the poem, thought it was a bit long, but loved it just the same.

amahra: How long is too long for a poem? One can't shorten it as the story would not be complete otherwise. Thanks for your review. love, jan

Oh my goodness Jan! You and Lexi are in my prayers for sure! How horrible for one so little to be going through so much pain. And yet, you observe her talking to God and she talks with you about angels. Amazing! God works in mysterious ways. I know it must be very hard for you to leave her after all this trauma. Have a safe trip and I will be praying for Lexi to get well...Hugs, Sue

Hi Jan,
now isn't it amazing how a child tht is ill makes you realize how precious life is
This part definitely impressed me--

are you and God chatting
as you are resting?
is He telling you
all is well -
the ear infection, virus,
and whatever other germs
are attacking you
are under His control?

Gert
