This is a well-written chapter which nicely moves along the plot and sets the scene for Troy leaving his parents - perhaps vulnerable - to an angry husband. I hope I'm wrong. Best wishes, Bev

I love that you added in the author notes about why abused women don't leave. It seems like a such a simple decision for someone who has never been in such a situation. The "remember" part is breath-taking. You'll never know how many lives you've saved and helped.
I hope the PI has some luck in finding Anna and her son.

Wow, what a wonderful first time introduction to your work. The characters leap off the page and I felt immediately transported into their lives. You are addressing a serious and important issue in a way that from what I have read is so beautifully crafted it becomes immediately accessible to any audiience. Although I am fortunate enough to have never been touched by domestic abuse some who are close to me have and I am aware how confusing terrifying and terrible it can be. The fact that you give information in you author notes speaks volumes about your desire to give support and is a huge credit to you. A sincere and genuine and extremely well written insight into a part of life that can often remain hidden. Congratulations x
