Oh, how very sad. Your little poem is a sweet tribute to your dog. I have two of my own, so I know how much they are a part of the family. Thank you for sharing your feelings.

Excellent. This is a very loving haiku that tells a heartwarming story in just three lines. A special pet and friend is something to be treasured always, even if they are no longer around. Technically, syllable count is a perfect 5-7-5. FYI-- you can earn member dollars by reviewing other writers work. You can use those member dollars to pay fees to post more of your own work. It's challenging and fun at the same time. Also, if you like writing haiku 5-7-5's watch for contests you can join. Well done. Good luck and keep writing.

I would firstly like to say that I am greatly sorry for your loss.

The poem was emotional and it conveyed your pain in three little lines. A very good job to you; it is not easy to express emotion with such a limited syllable count.

Poor Tassie - poor you. This is a tragic little posting and I sympathise. I still remember tearfully the look in my beautiful retrievers eyes when he could not be saved and I had to agree to his euthanasia. He was 14 but that didn't make the hurt any less. I hope another animal has come along to ease the pain - but you never forget, and that's good.

A short poem with poetic touch. Words so simply expressed but so much a revelation of memorable meaning. This poem has an emotional appeal to readers. I like it.

Animals like humans face complications from surgery - that's why it's a good idea to stay out of hospitals as much as possible. I'm sorry to hear of your loss but your words in the 5/7/5 poetry say it well. Good luck in the contest. Jerry

There's nothing like the devotion of a pet, they love you unconditionally. Theis is written from the heart and is well-done. Good job. God bless.

How hard it is when one of our pets dies. It about breaks my heart and I think I'll never have another to get this attached to, and then I fall in love again....nice job...kathleen

That is far too young to go. I wish my baby 'mastiff' would live at least another ten years...she is four now. but...we know that won't happen. liked your poetry not the event.

It's hard to love the giant breeds, isn't it? Enjoy every minute with your baby, and thank you for your kind words.

NOooo! These dogs are well known as the 'Gentle Giant'. They are so loving, protective and they do not know they are huge.
