Tom,
Your visual is very potent--like your wine probably is. I like the contrast of green and white. I reminds me of purity and clarity--all coupled with the flavor and scent of the wine--I've been schooled as well.

You have painted a picture that tantalizes the palate. It is as though the wine is processing in these three very short lines. No picture necessary.

A poem of the purity of the grape and the virgin-white quality of the Wedgewood plate.
Tomprato you are indeed a lover of the simplicity and purity of the irreducible: the grape that is the birthplace of the wine.
Blessings,
Jay

The poem does capture quite a visual image. Nature does make its own art, a special kind to which all human artists aspire. The process of making the wine and the plates represent for me the coming together of natural with human arts of the highest order.

YOu didn't... grasp me like you did the person who labeled this all-time best. But you struck my curiosity for how grapes can be translucent?

You've never seen grapes, my friends. I never said transparent. It's translucent.

I enjoy this poem because it is so calming and serene.
The content just makes you move your lips in anticipation of the wetting of the lips. The word winery comes to mind and I roam back to embrace the poem again. It has a lullaby effect on me because it sets the pace for a wonderful late night snack! Cheese, crackers, and more grapes are the culprits that add zest and fullfillment to this scene.

Nicely done, Tom. Very clever use of specific phrases like Sauvignon vintage, Wedgwood, and translucent to evoke clear images and tell your story in just three lines. A great entry for this contest. Good luck!
