Wow, I can see your story is attracting a lot of attention. You have upped the tension considerably in this short episode, probably needed to shock the reader out of any complacency about things going so smoothly. Keep writing.

This seems so realistic. I could just picture this happening to someone. My daughter was with a man like this for awhile. I was petrified for her. I am glad that is over. Story holds interest well. I just put my book chapters on line. I have to break them up and give them the next chapter number. I like the way you noted this on your page here. Great story.

Barbara, your story has me cheering for Anna and her new knight in shining armor, and absolutely coming out of my chair with Bobby. You are pulling on heart strings and making your reader feel the pain and hopelessness of this woman and so many others trapped like her. Good job. Hi Barbara,
I can never understand judges and lawyers who will apply for and grant bail to men of this type. The lawyer and the judge should be arrested and charged as accessories to any further harm they do after being released.

Women who are abused also end up bouncing from one bad relationship to another, never ending the chain without help. This issue is sadly still hidden by so many children and women. I hope that the woman in your story gets out. Cheers!

Sounds like Bobby just doesn't learn. It's easy to see that he's building his own prison cell or digging his grave, but we'll wait to see how. He may have already stepped through a restraining order.
I enjoyed this short read and couldn't find anything to criticize.
