I don't know which I got the bigger smile from--the write or your author's notes. A great, funny write that put a smile on my face before retiring to bed. Enjoyed it very much.

Hehe, this is fun! And to make sense of all those words in rhyming fashion! You seem to be set on committing harry-carry! Good show, the imagery was cool and it all made sense.

Thank you - I'm sure they have these in other languages too - I have been trying to think of French ones, the only other language I'm familiar with...

This is a fun silly sonnet to read. It puts a smile on the readers face and we need that once in a while. You had fun writing this I can tell.

This is definately a humerous and silly poem. I like your author notes on these words. You have given me food for thought here. This is an enjoyable poem to read and I love the last line" do not choose the willy-nilly when you wed."

Do not choose nilly-willy either!

Love all your flip-flop words :-)
It is great that you managed to use so many while also maintaining iambic pentameter and the sonnet's required rhyme scheme.
I like the alliteration of tittle-tattle tales and willy-nilly when you wed.
I have long been a huge fan of fun old-fashioned words and sayings, so I am smiling all over the place at your well-constructed and most clever use of these words in a sonnet.

Thanks, Brooke. Strangely enough, the ones I first had in my mind were dilly-dally and shilly-shally and neither found a place in the final poem!
Glad you got a smile out of it.

Charming, amusing and ends with good advice. Excellent, clever piece.
Those old fashioned flip-flops are cleverly worked in so as not to miss a beat in your iambic pentameter.
The rhyme is flawless.
The one alliteration that is my favorite is your tongue twister in the second stanza:
Such tittle-tattle tales they think are sweet.
I would definitely recommend this to others(esp.. Shakespeare) as entertaining, a collection of old fashioned phrases and old fashioned common sense.

Thank you for your detailed review - I am glad you enjoyed my bit of fun which I wrote to highlight one of the strange quirks of our language. Mostly though, it was just to get a giggle...

Thank you - actually I had a much longer list of these 'flip-flop' words, but some of them were a bit obscure so I only chose the most recognizable ones.

When the muse is on vacation, the poet will play. This is very well written in its own preverse way. It has a smooth flow of words, making for a fun read.

Thanks for the review and glad you enjoyed my bit of fun - yes all the words are genuine (except 'shed de bike' which is my own piece of madness) so you'll find them in a good dictionary.
