Great poem written about recovery. The artwork really soars and it brought your poem to life. I enjoyed reading your poem and I have no suggestions for any changes.

The artwork is my all-time favorite by MoonWillow. Your reference to recovery speaks volumes to all who are, in essence in some form of recovery. I enjoyed the read and wish you well with your writes.

Fully understood and each stanza
is a gem that shines with true
hope for ones recovery. I am first
to admit, yes, many years ago she
picked me up from the gutter.
Your poem should be read by all in need
for recovery. I will send this to my
oldest daughter.

this is very well written, dallas, an honest and open poem about the truth of recovery and what it entails, full of imagery and emotion, i really enjoyed reading this one.

You have good imagery and a good flow with your poem-you are descriptive and write with emotion about Recovery-it isreaching out for hope and freeing up our spirit but i like where you write(Recovery is sharing our pain and our joy) when you can do this it is really a big step forward--great job.

Thank you...joy shared is doubled and pain cut in half.

I think your poem is wonderful and you have sent a message that needs to be heard. It gets six stars because each word matters. My mother used to say to me, "It isn't what you say, but how you say it!" She of course meant my tone, but to me the words we choose to use to deliver the message we want heard are paramount to how the message is received, yet some don't bother to choose their words wisely. Great poem.

This is an incredible poem. The third stanza reminds me a little of my poem "Winter's Scarred Face" ---
The ravelling wind whirls
loose threads ripping the seam of Winter's gauze
fraying the fabric of his life
revealing his facial scars
Your poem has so many wonderful images. I am amazed at how close your poems images are to another poem I wrote about my divorce: Old Memories---"Autumn leaves weave a path like old memories that tumble forth and knit fragmented pieces of our lives together in special moments, I rummage through those old memories like one does an attic that holds hidden treasures." And another one: Fall---climbing the wind like an elusive dream catching the first breath of morning." Back to your poem---I like how you use the word Recovery to begin each line, then the beautiful messages that follow. I just got new contacts, so I am having trouble today seeing and thinking, so I won't review the technical/mechanical aspects of your poem, but they are perfect anyway. You have a knack for saying things with the most "electric" words that charge us with feelings that may be in our subconscious or filed away from years past. It's the last stanza that is hard for me, leaving the regret and resentment behind so that I can free up my spirit today. You are truly a great poet and I thank you for sharing your work with me.

thank you so much for all of the kind words. Good luck with the contacts. Not everything I write is auto-biographical. Often it is just observing or being privy to the pain of others.

The author talks very well on what he feels about "Recovery"
He says, Recovery is sifting through the broken dreams And reaching out to hope No matter how fragile or illusive.
Recovery is straining to hear the muffled sob...Recovery Is noticing the exquisite silk thread...Recovery Is sharing our pain and our joy Our failures and successes With at least with one human being. And Recovery is putting each day to rest Unbridled by resentment or regret, freeing up,our spirit." I like the point of view. It is very encouraging. Dom
