Great chapter and stats. The stats are accurate and hopefully, help to raise some awareness. I've been in the position Anna is in and it's not a fun place to be.

This is yet another powerful chapter. I like how Anna is trying to assert more control over her life. In doing so she begins to break Bobby's real power over her. The control she allowed him to exert. That's what abuse really is in the end, a means of control.

Thanks for the background on Anna. I'm glad to know more about her and how she met Bobby. She did make a terrible mistake, but I don't think she should feel like she has to pay for that mistake by staying with him. I also feel for her situation. I'm really anxious to see what Troy's father will say to her.

Something else I forgot to mention was that, in Arizona anyway, the initial hearing is held at 9pm of the day of the arrest, or 9am of the next day if the arrest is too late in the day to get it together, at which bail is set or denied and Bobby's appointed a public defender if he can't afford a lawyer. The prosecutor would, without doubt, ask the court to deny him bail.

This is great dialogue. It took me awhile to catch on who Bobby and Troy were, but I did, despite that I just tuned in. I think this is believable and I do think the stats add to the realism. Great job. I'll have to read the rest now.

This is a part of a relationship I just can't understand. When someone harms someone they supposedly love and do it over and over like a sickness. You tell this so vividly and the emotion is felt through out the story.Thanks.

What a story I have read it to chapter 9 and every one is so well written yes lots of women go through this violence and do not tell a soul, mostly we are ashamed to admit this happens to them well done and I hope you are feeling better

They won't even consider him their grandchild.
Harsh treatment - sometimes children are just born into a situation through no fault of theirs.

Consider deleting "in pain", I feel it's implied in "winced".
How do I get away from my husband?
I think if Anna is thinking this, she would refer to Bobby as "Bobby" rather than "my husband".
