Thanks for the review - I tried to stick to ones I thought would be better known, but that was always a risk. There were so many more I could have squeezed in DOA ETA CIA BBC IRA COD .....

Dear Steve,
I see you limit your acronyms to three letters and I am gobsmacked to see so many, all of which have impacted (and still do) on my life. This is brilliant, old son, in the execution of the work and the delightful, nonsensical tomfoolery.
Now, have a go at SNAFU.
Regards
Reg

WOW! What a creation you have here. I loved how you put so much time and effort into this piece. It really was a landmark poem. It was full of history and it read very well. Bravo and the very best of luck to you and your writing...dark lord

Thank you for your kind words - this poem was really a one-off as it has the strange concoction of weird subject plus device of all the TLAs, but it works in its own crazy way!

I did enjoy it very much. It took me some time to catch on,But once I did I laughed MAO. Wonderful structure and creative flow and content. The rhyme was 2D4. Really great poem.

Thank you! I deliberately left out ones with numbers as well, because I didn't really want to get into the whole texting thing - maybe that could be a subject for a later verse.

Just brilliant - I had fun working out a couple of them and laughed and laughed at SFA!! Not only does this poem amuse us in every verse, it also scans and rhymes perfectly. What a master poet-jester you are:):) I am sad I haven't got any sixes left for this truly does deserve one. Well done, Steve LOL xxmouse

You know that stands for Sweet Fanny Adams don't you. Try googling it for a very sad story!
Second time today I've been called a master - I'm definitely going to need a bigger hat!

My grandpa used that phrase a lot, so I grew up with it. Nowadays I think it still means the same but perhaps the words are a little more robust:):):)

I loved it. It made me laugh out loud. Although I did have to look up lectern. With this site, I keep a dictionary right on my lectern. The acronyms were not all familiar. I think people actually can get away with faking them sometimes, they are so common. However,, I do not text..My kids say I'm behind in the times. Nice flow. Great word choice. Look forward to more.

more craziness (mostly) in my portfolio if you want to peek.
Thanks for your kind review - I tried to take the TLAs from various sources, so they weren't overloaded with texting ones. There are a hundred more I could easily have used ETA DOA CIA LOL PTA GBH - amazing how much junk the brain stores up.

Hello kiwisteveh...
Actually this is highly creative and very funny. You should get a PhD in Preferred Treatment of Lecterns and How That Relates to TLAs. MLA style...LOL.
Bravo!
Fondly, Rebecca

--Interesting play on acronyms here.
--Interesting poem of political jargon and rhetoric.
--Good rhymes after stanza 1.
--"Its wood's approved by FDA "
I didn't get this one ... ?
--"But many a modern VIP
Prefers one made of PVC "
Prefer.
--Creative and witty.
--By the way, I always associated 'lecterns' with pulpits, stands, supports and platforms--objects--and not words, acronyms or abbreviations in themselves.

You are right - no connection between acronyms and lecterns - that is all part of the bizarro kiwi mind...
