Not sure just how many six star ratings you got from women, but you surely get one from me. Could it have something to do with being the mother of three sons? No, I don't think so. From the time that I could read I stood up for Adam and blamed it all on Eve. You know what -- I bet you wife would agree. If she has put up with this for awhile I am sure she has a sense of humor.

Still chuckling over this fun romp through history. I like the examples you've chosen, as well as the theme of "It's a woman's fault, somewhere, somehow," though of course I have to object to the falsehood of your premise...

Thanks for the six and the kind words. It was a fun poem to write, and I have more 'Hysterical Historicals' planned.
I'm curious as to how you found it since it's now off the main listings...

I think your were on someone's fan list, and I remembered seeing another piece of yours that I had enjoyed a lot, so I clicked into your portfolio :)

Dear kiwi,
Great stuff. Misogynists unite! You have nothing to lose but your gonads. If you think i am speaking metaphorically, think again.

Not quite ready to lose those yet!
I am planning a 'Brief History of the Bible' which is what your Engineer's story reminded me of. Begins something like this:
"I've nothing planned this week," God said.
I'll start a project in my shed.
It's dark in there, let there be light!
Hey, I've created Day and Night!"

    Cheers!

I am woman hear me roar.....with laughter. Though there's two sides to every story, your version is probably more attractive as it is humorous and rhymes.

Thank you - laughter is what I'm after. There - still can't stop rhyming.

When I saw the length of this poem, I thought I would lose interest half way through. I have to confess that the history and humour kept my interest and I enjoyed reading it. A great punch line at the end.

You just reviewed me so I thought I'd return the favor, and as offended as I am, you'd never know it because I'm laughing so hard!! Excellent and quite smart too!! Bravo
I do lots of rhymers as well, such as (most recently) "Devil's Dance" and "Shy".

Thanks for that. I am planning a series and a review here has given me 'Hysterical Historicals' as a title.
Yes, I will definitely check out your other work.

Hilarious and outrages. Wonderful work. All the aspects I enjoy. Funny, rhyming, irreverent, and educational. I could teach a month's worth of history lessons with this single poem! You deserve the six stars!

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that your poem gave me goosebumps.I love history and a saucy wit.I laughed out loud and paused to think over the tales of these men.It had all my favorite elements..intelligence,humor,history,and an extensive library of great thesaurus words(if you didn't use one then your even more talented then most!Great Job!

Thanks for the review and the 6 stars - I guess giving goosebumps is even better than just raising a laugh.
No thesaurus needed, but I'll admit to checking my historical facts on some of these just to make sure...
Keep your eyes open for more Hysterical Historicals. I'm planning a series. next up, The Bible. A snippet to tease you with:
    "I've nothing planned this week," God said;
"I'll start a project in my shed.
It's dark in there; Let there be light!
"Hey, I've created Day and Night."

It may be a long poem!!

I see you are a newby here - welcome aboard.

I loved reading these words from start to finish.

They were very creative and the words flowed well.

They were also very informative.

Great writing.
