This one definitely qualifies for the "Dictionary"
contest. Your rhyming is excellent and if it were
not for the definitions given in your notes, I
probably would not have read it. Good luck.

Now here is an absolute masterpiece if you don't mind me saying. I completely loved this piece, and that's the honest truth.

I also think your authors notes were great as well and I really wish you all the best in the contest.

Excellent piece!

Well what do you say to that! You must have the patience of a saint and the vocabulary of a very wise person, coupled wit a vast knowledge of life and mythology to have put together such a splendid piece!

Thank you :-). For me there is a strong link between poetry and philosophy, As poets we explore concepts, conundrums, and considerations on a daily basis. Inspiration itself is a subject well worthy of scrutiny, and that's what I hoped to evoke here. Thanks so much for your great comments.

Wow, one can certainly get an education reading a poem of this nature. Thanks for the helpful author's notes with definitions. This is very well done. Kudos.

A very nice tongue twister for me. I do appreciate the time and research in giving us this very delightful rhyming work. I truly enjoyed.

Why, oh why, do I not have a six to give you for this absolutely magnificent piece? I am extraordinarily impressed with your choice of words, your tackling the most difficult form of poetry I have ever tackled (Crown of Sonnets) and your insight about our love of words. This was genius writing, my friend! Hugs, Sue

Aww, thank you, Sue :-) You're partly responsible for this - after asking me if I'd post my response to your Blue Bird poem, I decided to expand on some of the ideas in it, and that was when I decided to have a stab at another crown.

I'm so happy you liked it!

Yikes, Had I even thought about attempting something like this, my muse would have ducked and run for cover - probably would have found her somewhere relaxing on a pillow, feet up, glass of wine in hand and wearing a glazed look.

Seriously - I really enjoyed this read. You took a few simple instructions and did a sevenfold level of enhancement, then added a few new rules of you own. Marvelous. The form, syllable count and meter are perfect. I love the use of line repetition to summarize one of the sonnets and begin the next. It all flowed very naturally.

Gems of inspiration - sometimes applauded, sometimes befuddled. I think every poet has a grasp on all of the emotions, celebrations and frustrations.

Now, about the words. Typically, I am irritated by a seemingly endless barrage of long words - apparently installed simply for their length. But here, I found the challenge entertaining. Do thank you, though, for including definitions in your author notes.

Enjoyable repartee.

Judy

Thank you, Judy. Admittedly, I used the dictionary contest as an excuse to break out some properly obscure lengthy words, but I was determined to use them appropriately. I'm so glad you enjoyed my study of muse and inspiration - it was immensely interesting to write :-)

Yes - I can imagine it was interesting to write, as well as challenging and fun. And the unique and interesting form with all of the words was what made it fun, challenging and interesting to read. That's a cool thing! Judy

Your lexicon is as great or greater than several of poets of similar ilk on FanStory. As you say this must have been a wonderful way to express yourself in a manner that was a challenge. I really enjoyed the read.

Thank you, Alan. I think this is very much a poet's poem, but I'm okay with that. Thanks for the great compliment.
