If I ever have another dog I will have to consider the name of Harley, which was my father's. I think you are writing a series of short stories about various epics in your life with separate pets. This is the 2d review of your book of pet stories. I found that the smaller dog is a puppy,Leo and Harley a rescue with large paws.

Thank you for continuing to read - I see that you realized about the book - Harley was a puppy, Simba was an older cat - about 10 and Leo was another cat who was 4 when this story took place. Thank you for reading,

Thanks for sharing this story about your pets. I have two, a small Caviar, St. Charles Spaniel, and a mid-size Box, Pit Bull, Terrier mixed. The small one is two, and the other is four. They're madly in love with each other and play together (both inside and out) multiple times a day. JW

This is a good story.
Very entertaining.
It reminds me of the reason I never have more than one pet at a time.
Thanks for sharing this chapter from your book.
Good luck with your future writing.

Hi Nicole; it certainly was a challenge having two cats and a dog. It is a lot easier to deal with just two dogs. I'm glad you're enjoying the stories,

This actually reminded me on many a relative who've driven me to utter misery by the proverbial "overstaying their welcome" when they visit. Especially those who get to feel so comfortable they start directing the domestics and deciding on what should be for dinner.

Leo still holds out for the notion the little beast is simply visiting. Simba knows better. He's lived longer and shared other houses with other dogs.

Well, I think this kingdom is a bit more tolerant than mine!

Blessings,
Aki

Hi Aki; yea, I can see the correlation between a new puppy and 'visiting' relatives. Simba certainly was surprised to find that Harley stayed, and Leo never really got used to the idea - it certainly was an adventure.

Sometimes it can take up to a month for them to get used to each other and accept the new housemate. I'm sure they will all get along after a bit. My parents have a cat named Simba too.

Hi Mel; the boys did learn to live together. It was a good time while they were a part of my life. They have all since crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, but I have fond memories,

Hi,

You showed well Simba's jealousy over Harley. He feels insecure perhaps, and doesn't want to share his Mom with this new pet. Hopefully they will have great time together.
It is such a chore to have long, luxurious, silken fur. -- this was funny. I can relate as I have long hair :)

Hi; thank you so much for reviewing this piece. Simba was really vain about his fur, and I needed to give some attention to that. I appreciate your kind words,

Not sure which furry friend to feel sorry for. The puppy wants to play but the kittens have lost their quiet puppy-free existence. Hope they decided to get along. I know some cats love their dog siblings.

Hi; the cats and Harley did learn to get along - at one point, Simba used to go into the kitchen where Howie slept and curl up with him at night. They were a fun group of pets to have,

Good afternoon, Patty

You definitely captured how one has a blended family. The actions and reactions between canine and feline is priceless. Enjoyed.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

That sounds like a good morning routine for the three. They will get used to the dog and he will get to know them slowly. He gets his exercise and settles down. Pets are so much fun. Good job Patty. Nancy
