Very inspiring poem, definitely makes you think. At first it was unclear "why" you were asleep, then you brought that out. Well done in my opinion. (This is my first rating so I hope I am doing it correctly)

This is so thought provoking and meaningful. It is important to appreciate what we have before it's too late. We'll never get another chance to show our loved ones how much we care for them. It's a wonderful poem.

How reflective this seems to me. It evokes and provokes. For someone over 80, it is a reminder of the need to say the things that can't be said when the darkness falls. Best is to leave it in writing for future generations.

Oh, this is beautiful. It surely makes one think. You not only expressed your emotions so well, you rhymed it beautifully, unforced, with a smooth flow. I love everything about this one. Very well done.

You are so very correct, we never appreciate how good a life we live and how good a company we have in our family and friends until too late. Very lovely composition.

A really interesting concept- things I would say If I woke up after a coma-that you handle so beautifully and with great sensitivity, and when I think about it, it isn't so far-fetched at all; its the essence of a love poem. good luck in the contest.

This is really good, a twist on the old prayer: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take." Only one small suggestion: make "tear", "tears"--it's okay to do a plural in rhyme and makes it more real. No one watching a loved one die would cry just one tear. But otherwise, it's beautiful, and I especially loved the ending stanza.
