I thoroughly enjoyed your ampeletum puppy poem, Patty. I especially like that second verse about teeth traces on your hands and a bark in response to a scold. Very cute--and universal! Good for you for attempting a new form. YOu succeeded!!! Mary

Enjoy Harley while he's a pup, Patty.
It wont last long till he's all grown up.
Lovely rhythm and rhyme to your words Patty, a very enjoyable read.
Best wishes.

I had trouble with the second stanza, lines two and four did not work for me. In the fourth stanza, neither did Gnarly/harley. The following site might help you. The five stars are for your talent. I know you will get the poem to work.

Thank you for reading and the generous review. I will look at the lines - my rhyming dictionary indicates that gnarly and Harley are rhyming words. ~patty~

I had trouble with the placement of the "l" in garly. You're welcome.

I am glad that this form has caught on ... and you used it well.

I especially liked:

Oh the joy puppies bring
with their little faces
puppy barks, nips and fun
running puppy races

Yes, to me, puppies and kittens are a never ending source of joy and you have captured this well here.

Another nice and simple little poem about one of your pets. It's a nice gentle read that asks little of the reader. perfect for this site.

Your ampeletum poem (one I haven't tried) is beautifully written, about your sweet pup 'Harley'. The picture is adorable! Thank you so much, for sharing this sweet piece that brought a smile. Betty

Fellow poet,
your ampeletum poem is in excellent form and very well written. Adorable puppy. Your rhyming quatrains are great. I enjoyed the stanza because of your use of alliteration: "He's growing oh so fastwon't be a pup too long playing in the bright sun singing a puppy song." I agree I have man FS poets who inspire me daily. Keep up the wonderful writing in 2011.
Melissa.

Don't know if you've read any of my recent poems about Teddy! He's a little miniature poodle we're dog sitting for a month! What a joy he has brought to our house... it will be difficult when he has to go! Love and hugs, Jackles xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have never heard of this type of poem before, but I truly enjoyed it. Pups are so much fun. My daughter has a pure bread German Shepherd. Her name is Reina. She is almost a year now and growing like a weed. This is a fun poem with a good format and the rhythm and rhyme flows together magically, very well done, Kathy58
