hello jan,

how sweet that this is for Lexi!

a couple small suggestion: about my legs - around my legs (just a thought)

'love' is said two time very close together; how about 'pure, uncompromising depths' or a different word than 'love' Otherwise, it feels a bit redundant, and I think you are trying to express the vibrancy and liveliness of your granddaughter...

Your poem is in perfect Whitney form.. This captures the sweetness and purity, as well as trust, of a young child in an adult. Their appreciation for life and their need for love and their need to give love is shown here..

Great write.. All the best, Jen

The best love comes from youngsters. They seem to express their feelings freely and without hesitation. They are so accepting of everyone. Would that we were all like little children. A beautiful picture that you were able to recreate here with your words.

I love the way little people hug the legs, the part they can reach, of someone they love and that's you Nanny. i have yet to try this form of poetry but it seems that many people are liking it so I think it's time for me. This was a very sweet and touching poem and I am assuming that your pic is of grandmother and grand daughter. It's lovely, Lucky you. The Blue Pixel

unfortunately not of Lexi and me but yes it is of a grandmother and granddaughter -- I am so blessed that Lexi lives next door to me -- I took a series of pictures of her this morning so I can write more poetry about her - love, jan

Right next door must be a grandmother's AND daughter's AND a grand daughter's dream. i have married a man with 11 grand children and one on the way but my own daughter has not, as yet given me this particular thrill. It is a thrill very obvious in you. xx Carol

Jan, wonderful. I'm sure Lexi will like them; especially
when she gets older. Those sweet little girls do know
how to melt our hearts.
