a nightmare brought to
the front of our minds,
Victor - such horrors,
such terror and pain.

Your words drive this home.

Margaret.

How very sad.......
You can feel and see your heart written down on this paper.. The feel is lonely, weary, dreary......
And so very sad..... That comes across in your words...
Sad topic..... Great piece...

This is a nice piece of emotional poetry. The diction is not really easy to understand. I suggest you do something about it so that even without the author's note, the reader will understand it. kudos

I have read "Night", also. It is truly haunting, and you have captured the pain and suffering well. I especially liked the "line bludgeon batter my pain lest I feel". Great job!

Oh, this was a painful piece to read, D. Very, very well handled and paced and just when I thought it was over ...
"come bludgeon" very, very effective.

How could anyone sleep after something like that on one's mind? That's a nightmare for sure! Those horrors are gone forever I hope! My Dad fought in World WarII and I'll never forget it. Great job! V.A.

A gripping poem in which the author reminds us of what is capable human being, man against man, man against nature. A profound message in a poem to reflect.
Congratulations Victor,

A real living nightmare - whenever I think about it I can't begin to understand man's cruelty to man. You have expressed it well. Have you ever watched The Boy in Striped Pyjamas - another haunting depiction of the atrosities? JennieClare

Jennie, I have been told by many people to watch this movie. I am certain it is powerful. One has to be emotionally ready, I think, for such a movie. When I read a book, I can put it down for a while to recover.
reply by JennieClare on 07-Jan-2011
Yes you're right - we didn't know when we got it just how emotional it was going to be - but well worth a viewing when you are ready. Jennie - take care

Perhaps this may have been the cry of many in a bid to end the torment of the SS. Part of Elie Wiesel's reason for writing such a book was to keep the memory of what was done to the Jews alive. The author of this poem has paid tribute to his desire with this cruel reminder of their reality. A deep and painfully dark but well written poem.

Thank you Adama. I meant it deep and painfully dark, because as you know, that is what is necessary.
