My copy of "Night" is always near on my bookshelf as a reminder.
Bludgeon is an interesting choice, as if to name one an instrument of murder.
I wish more people would read "Night" and infer from it it's deeper meaning, like all great classics it is not merely about Auschwitz, but human indifference to the plight of others, we turn away until the trains come for us. Genius.

"I read about a boy and his family sent to the concentration camp, Auschwitz" This unimaginable horror still haunts me when I think about it... incredulous!!!

Thank you poet.

Perfect. These lines have portrayed a wound so raw and pain so deep that the mind can not possibly conceive. I am stayed in horror of the effectualness of this fine poet's delivery.

Horror is all that can explain what those people went through. I can't imagine living like that and surviving. I loved this. Well done.

You've created a visual horror beyond most peoples comprehension. Thanks for the excellent portrayal of despair felt throughout all these camps of heinous injustices.

Macabre and harrowing. The repeated use of "Bludgeon" made things pretty clear. Injustice DOES rule in these places. I have much empathy for the poor survivors that live with the daily horror. So sad that humans even contemplate doing this to one another.
I hate violence, I hate war and I nearly bailed on this review but this was written in such a heartfelt and pleading way I found myself sympathising from the first line. I won't say this was my favourite part but I feel it was the most poignant line:
"Come thou insensitive mass,
be thee hammer
or human."
A pretty simple plea to the mass: either kill me or let live. Don't make me endure this endless torture.
Very moving. Wish I had a sixer but I don't. Sorry.

I won't say it was a pleasure, the content was a little depressing for me but it is a pleasure to review your great work.

Man's inhumanity to his fellow man knows no bounds. Sad to say, man has changed little of the millennia, and its doubtful much change, if any, will occur in the foreseeable future. Ray aka Krylon

I think you absolutely do understand this. And at the appropiate level which does not necessarily mean the intellect. One's "chi" or one's gut is better for many things.

Now I do understand; thank you.

Very strong poem and your authors notes show such powerful conviction, depth, and despair behind this historically inspired poem. The way you end "Bludgeon" by spacing out the very last line "Come Bludgeon..." apart from the rest of the poem, is very powerful and strikes the reader with such force. Incredible job!
