Beautifully written. My son didn't come home for Christmas this year which is the first time we had Christmas without him. In our ever too busy world, we need to slow down and smell the roses.Debbie

Thank you for reading and reviewing. I think the financial crisis hitting the world is impacting families in a very negative way - it is sad. ~patty~

Hi Patty,
I can really relate to this poem. I'd like to turn time back just 10 years. My baby is almost 16 now and I really miss having little ones in the house. I don't think I'll handle it very well when she leaves.
Cheers,
Norma :)
PS. I love the striped t-shirts :)

Thank you so much, Norma! I appreciate you reading the poem and understanding what I'm going through with my 'empty nest' syndrome. The striped t-shirts are STILL a huge family joke, but tomorrow we are going to have a family portrait done with some matching t's we all wore on vacation this past summer - I will include that with a poem, soon~ Thanks for reading and reviewing. ~patty~

Patty, this was so nice, how different times can change. I guess we have all had to juggle things around to eventually make things happen.
Have a lovely belated Christmas.
P.S love the picture...was there a sale on at the stripey shirt shop. LOL
Best wishes.

SSS - thank you for reading. That particular family photo is referred to as 'The Prison shirts.' We went to Disneyland that year - and I wanted to be able to find my kids quickly in the crowds - it worked!! Thanks again. ~patty~

I so empathize - my daughter was supposed to visit the 27th and got snowed out by a storm and now can't come until April - it sure was nice to have my two children under my roof, all of us together not only on holidays but every day - I hope you have a wonderful visit - your poem will resonate with many readers :-) Brooke

Thank you for reading and your kind thoughts - I'm SO sorry about your family not being able to be together until April - if its any consolation - this is our first Christmas together in 9 years. I'm SO appreciative of your support. ~patty~
