Story aside as it is well written-

I personally find it interesting that we imagine ourselves, as humans, to be the 'master' or 'mistress' of our pets. I feel that personification of animals into a kind of servitude is particularly one-sided and humanist(for want of a better word).

At the same time, one may argue that we are given/have dominion over animals; an argument supported by various faiths. In that sense my reproach of some kind of mastership over the animal kingdom would be debatable.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. Your comments are well heard; I guess I'm honoring a favorite author here - Albert Payson Terhune - he wrote innumerable books about dogs - he referred to himself and his wife as 'Master' and 'Mistress.' I'm pretty sure my animals feel that they are TOTALLY in charge around my house! LOL! Thank you for reading. ~patty~

Such a lovely, tender account of Harley's adjustment to his new home and routine. You seem to be so happy with him and he with you. I'm loving every single detail of the story and hope to read more soon.

"Neuter" is definitely not in Harley's vocabulary. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for an easy read. Good job.

Hi Patty! I enjoyed reading this latest addition to your story. The writing has good consistency. As in prior chapters, I like your attention to detail, as you carefully construct the narrative, which flows smoothly and seamlessly. The imagery, the character-depictions and interactions, the thoughts, dialogue and emotions are all well-crafted, and woven nicely into the fabric of the story. Good work! Andy

I enjoyed reading this so much I went back and read through the previous chapters. Lovely story. I own a Peek-a-pooh and we often make up conversations with her and sometimes wonder what she is thinking. I like how you have him thinking like a human, "...wait until he gets a grown-up voice." Bendi thinks she is human. To me she is my little girl.

I would like to make one suggestion. The second paragraph, first sentence, instead of ...Mistress, and the other person..." Maybe leave out the "and", "...Mistress, the other person that comes and goes is just the Man." I think it gives it a nice flow.

Can't wait to read the next chapter! :)

This is very enjoyable. I think you describe his thoughts very well from his point of view. My dog is tired of watching me type and is trying to get my attention. Guess they have something in common! Debbie

Thank you so much for following Harley's saga. Yes, he seems to accept that I spend a bunch of time at the computer, but he really doesn't like it. ~patty~

Awww, Harley's first visit to the vets, how did he take his first shots?
I can hear his little yelp all the way to England.
Patty, so glad he's settling in nicely, he'll soon give those cat's a run for their money.
Best wishes.

No! Harley does NOT sleep on the bed - MAYBE once we get through the potty training, . . . but no! (That domain belongs to the cats.) He did NOT yelp when he got his shots - BRAVE PUPPY! Thanks so much for reading and the generous review. ~patty~
