That's one patient kitty, Patty, however begrudging. Isn't it amazing how each pet has it's own personality? It is the same with poetry forms as well. I prefer rhyme and meter. Anything
else may as well be prose. LOL However you have followed the rules here on your favorite subject, your pets, and you did it well as with all your work. Nice. Nancy

Hi Nancy; thank you so much for the lovely review of this poem about Leo. I revived this in order to honor Leo's memory. He has been gone from my life for about five years now, but never gone from my heart,

A light-hearted little poem - these cats all have their own ways - different characters - and they crave attention when they decide it's their time.
So which of us are trained - the cat or the owner?
The owner, of course.
purr

Wow, yet another form of poetry to digest. Is there no end to the amount of poetic forms that exist?
My goodness, they seem as plentiful as the stars in the universe, and that's a LOT!
At least lounging Leo is a patient felinefiend...e-r-r-rrrrr, heh-heh... I meant friend, of course.
Nice, patty...

I still remember my canine friends from when I was a child, Patty.
Dusty, Skeeter, Buffy...
We never forget them.

An interesting form that gradually drills down to the climax in the last stanza. His time! Yay!
I like the way you have run this line on in the first stanza. It gives a good sense of the insistent but almost imperceptible meow!
"A tiny and almost
Silent meow his voice"

Good morning, Patty
You nailed the rhyme! You've captured the essence of a cat's POV on how he views his competition regarding the dog and his owner. Enjoyed.
Take care and stay safe,
Ray

Hi Ray;
I'm so glad you enjoyed this poem. Leo was such a great cat. He never did warm up to Harley though.

Perfect justice done to the hexaverse form. Leo looks like a dream. The more I read of him, the more my interest catches on! Another of your beautiful poems. Loved it. Regards

Oh the poor cat! Thank you so much for writing this. The image of the cat is splendid. It seems to have translucent green eyes. Please keep up the good work and I hope that your dog and cat do not fight very much. Have a lovely day!

Hi there; thank you for stopping by to read and review. Leo was a wonderful sweetie to everyone except Harley, the dog. His heart was as big as his purr, and his soul was as lovely as his eyes.

A very well-written poem about the time Leo crave for but he is willing to wait his turn. A very interesting poetry format. I would like to try one myself some day.

Thank you for all these poetry lessons Patty. I plan to start copying and pasting the educational notes of each type of poetry form. That way when I am ready I can go back to my notes to try each form myself.
This is a nice piece on Leo. He is a very good looking cat. Your animals are so special. I believe we have all fallen in love with your animals through your stories. You reveal their personalities and thoughts so well.
